...flooding all of the major ports around the world... Then you could look over at the jackass who thinks Gore is a twit and say, "I told you so...moron... It's not a big conspiracy afterall, dumb***"

I think that would be funny.

I'm hoping they rise 4000 feet so I can have an ocean front view.

The oceans are rising as predicted. Maybe not as Gore predicted but as the scientists predicted, then again, Gore's not a scientist.

The prediction was for a current rise of 3mm a year and guess what - the current rise is 3mm a year (Back or Bach's predictions from 1974). The future prediction is 5 or 6mm by 2050 and 10 to 12mm by 2100. It adds up to average rises of about 750mm by the end of the century.

I would rather be wrong and spare the lives of millions, not to mention the other consequences of a large sea level rise, than face those consequences just to be right.

The ironic thing is if we prevail and reduce greenhouse gas emisisons enough to avoid the worst effects of global climate change, you know they'll respond saying "see, I told you global warming was nothing to worry about", just like they do about the hole in the ozone layer now.

The oceans =are= rising as predicted, silly goose. In fact they're alarmingly close to the exact projections made by climate models. And no, that's not really a good thing.

You might think it's funny, but it would also be too late to do anything to stop the damage done by global warming
