I know this might seem obvious, but hey, close your door?!
You can buy some spray that is supposed to keep them away, but to be honest, it isnt that good!!

Wash the area well with a non biological soap powder, rinse with clean cold water, dry the area as much as you can. Then get a small plastic plant sprayer and put a small amount of 1/2 surgical spirit and 1/2 water in it, shake it up and spray the washed area with the solution. This will break down the fatty deposits in the urine, which cant be washed away and get rid of the odour.
This will help stop the cats from re-spraying that area. Do not use anything else, except vinegar, as that will just change the scent and invite them to spray over it again with their own, if they get in again.
If you catch the rascal dont smack or rub its nose in the urine and do not use pepper, as old wives suggest. This is cruel and will only frighten and stress the animal so much so that it has forgotten what its just done or why its been punished. In fact if you make an animal fearful it is likely to do the exact thing you don’t want it to out of insecurity.
Keep a plant sprayer by the back door and if you see him approaching give him a squirt of clean cold water, just before he enters your home.
Dont leave any food about and try to keep the door closed for most of the day until he gets the message that he cant gain access.
Hope this helps, it will clear the smell if nothing else.
I have a multi - cat household and even I suffer from Tom Cats that have not been neutered coming in the cat flap when my cats are not around and spraying in the house. So understand how distressing this can be.
I find this works for me, but I do have he added bonus of my cats seeing the cat off.
Have you thought about owning a cat yourself? Preferably a big butch male, they may think twice about entering his household or garden.
Good luck

Why should you have to close your door, after all if I had a pet rat & it went in the neibours house they'd soon complain.
If I had the money i'd take a few of my neibours to court for a test case re the damage & mess I have to put up with.
If a pet cannot be kept within it's own back yard then it should not be classed as such.
I have tried many things including the sprays & a very exspensive sonar device, but still they come.
I read an answer yesterday about a device that fires up a water sprinkler when a cat walks past, I am trying to find out more about it.

I've been accused of this one my neighbour went out and left her windows open then wondered why her house stunk. Just because I have seven cats it was my fault! However my house gets targeted by desperate toms as well and I hate the smell it never goes. So go to pet shop or wilkinsons and by the 'get off' spray follow the instructions it really does work. Also if you get on your hands and knees and smell where they have done it use warm water with washing powder in it. Or you can buy specially prepared odour eliminator for cats that works as well.

If you have a friend that owns a dog ask them to take the dog round for a couple of hours and let the do leave it's scent over your house and back garden , this should keep the cat's at bat if they think there is a dog on the premises.

Clean all the areas with lemon based cleaner, this should get rid of the smell and prevent them from coming back because the hate the smell. Do you own any cats? If so, out a magnetic cat flap out for them so only they can get in the house.
Hope this helps.

In any given situation, focus on what you do want your dog to do instead of on whatever he’s doing wrong. Learn how to train your dog https://tr.im/6ljiI
For example, suppose that on many evenings, your young dog gets busy looking for trouble just as you’re digesting your dinner. He grabs a boot from the mat by the front door and gallops through the house with it. You yell at him and take it away. He grabs its mate. You yell and take it away. He heads for the kitchen and starts checking out the counters in case something tasty’s been left behind. You chase him away. And on and on, until you’ve lost your temper and torn out clumps of hair you can ill afford to lose.

The door to my room is very in maximum cases closed. My mothers and dads do no longer incredibly like it, because of the fact they by no skill understand what i'm doing in there (no longer something any much less harmless than the two listening to hint, analyzing, writing, or something of that variety). I particularly do no longer like it opened as quickly as I sleep. i've got faith like somebody would are available or something with out listening to them come it, and it is in basic terms one thing that relatively bugs me especially situations.

sprinkle Cayenne pepper all over your yard and entry way...it will be a bit of a mess but before a cat pees it sniffs it's spot and will get a nose full of cayenne pepper, the cat wont pee in that spot or area again and the cayenne pepper wont harm the cat.
