I'm specifically thinking about the special task/ministry that God calls us to... What if someone senses God's call on their life, and for whatever reason - can't/won't follow through on it....What happens then?

batgirl2good - I'm not referring to the call of Salvation. I'm referring to a specific ministry calling, or special task that someone feels God is calling on them to do.

thank you btw - I see my "stupid" mistake. I apologize...my bad. Question should read: "What happens if we refuse to do what God calls us to do?"

I think God would keep calling, because he knows best. Cheers

It depends on the situation...John Bravere told a story about a man that God told to build a church and he refused...many years later when John met him, the man showed him the blueprints for the church, the one they were in that he hadn't built....the church had been built just like the drawings. God wanted it done and got someone to do the job.
Unfortunately that isn't always the case. I was supposed to go on a mission trip this year but was told I was too old....I was willing but because I was told I couldn't go, I wasn't able to encourage the pastor and help keep him on track and as a result no one is going this year. And I think there are lots of kids that won't be touched because we didn't go.

I dont think we are not saved, all we need is Jesus because there is nothing we can do for salvation. It says in rvalation the saints will weep at judgment. I think it is because of all the chance we missed out on to do Gods work. we will see our selfs the consequences of the lack of action we took in GOds calling, and it will hurt.

If you and God feel that strongly about it,then it will simply bug your mind until you give in or find a different fix.

God doesn't call. I'm a good person because it is more fun than being evil, and I find people like me more.

You are contradicting yourself.
Look at your question: What do you think happens if we DON'T refuse.
Then you say,
What if we CAN'T or DON'T follow through?
Either way, if you accept Jesus, you go to Heaven.

It's just a request, sheesh. He will understand if you don't feel up to it. If he really wants you to do something you will though, make no mistake.

Well "can't" and "won't" are two different things.
If it's really him calling on you to do it then there is no way you "can't" do it.

When you die, you can probably expect God to tell you "Well done good and unfaithful servant."
