There are a lot of Christians out there that are against birth control. Is the Mormon religion one of them? If so, why are you against it? For other Christians against birth control, does it say in your bible somewhere why you should not use birth control?

What drshorty said is true. The Mormon faith is for families, but is also for family planning. Members are taught they should be aware of their financial and emotional abilities to have children and have them accordingly. Therefore, there are no teachings against using birth control, but rather for planning (which means, use it if your situation calls for it).

We sure do!!! Just remember that birth control is NEVER a sure thing. My mother once told me how I am a birth control baby. Therefore, she KNEW that it was my time to be born.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints actually recently published a reference booklet for its members called "True to the Faith", which has the following information on birth control:

When married couples are physically able, they have the privilege of providing mortal bodies for Heavenly Father's spirit children. They play a part in the great plan of happiness, which permits God's children to receive physical bodies and experience mortality.

If you are married, you and your spouse should discuss your sacred responsibility to bring children into the world and nurture them in righteousness. As you do so, consider the sanctity and meaning of life. Ponder the joy that comes when children are in the home. Consider the eternal blessings that come from having a good posterity. With a testimony of these principles, you and your spouse will be prepared to prayerfully decide how many children to have and when to have them. Such decisions are between the two of you and the Lord.

As you discuss this sacred matter, remember that sexual relations within marriage are divinely approved. While one purpose of these relations is to provide physical bodies for God's children, another purpose is to express love for one another -- to bind husband and wife together in loyalty, fidelity, consideration, and common purpose.

drshorty hit the nail on the head. Sex between husband and wife is allowed even if it's just for pleasure and bonding with one another.
My wife and I just had our first child, and plan to wait 5 years before our next one. However we may change our minds. We've prayed about it together and individually and we both agree more children are in our future

No, we aren't. I used BC for 5 years because we as a couple felt as though we were not ready for children then... I have lots of friends though who have gotten pregnant on BC so my belief is the kids are going to come when they are supposed to. After all, WE aren't really in charge, our Heavenly Father is.

theres a section in the old testament that forbids the use of pigs skins (early birth control). Thats why most Christian faiths are against it, including Mormons.

He wasn't asking for personal views, he was asking for religious views. Both the mormom and catholic churches completely oppose the use of birth control.

Probably, I talk to a old Mormon guy once, he kept telling me I should have some kids, (even after I told him I don't plan on getting married).

It was very strange.

Protestants like myself have nothing against birth control; the pig skin thing in the OT was probably because pig skin comes from...well, pigs. And pigs weren't considered "clean" back then.
