Believing in God, you take the fact that he can perform miracles as fact and that everything that he does cannot always be explained, he can do things because he is the Almighty. Now explain how the big bang and evolution can make something as complex as the human eye.

First I would like to say that like our government I prefer that my spirituality and science remain separate. The bible was meant for the reader to use as a mirror to judge his own heart and draw closer to his/her creator. I believe that God created the world pretty much the way the scientist describe it but I think that is the way God designed it.
I was upset recently to hear I don't know if it is true though, that Bush Administration removed the science books on sale at the yellow stone national park and replaced them with creationist bible stories. That is insane. The next thing you know they'll try is removing them from schools.
I guess what I'm saying is that I feel your frustration and that it is important for me that you know that though I feel that Spirituality created Science that they are unrelated. Spirituality is about changing ones own heart to be more loving and less self serving and science is about trying to understand and manipulate our universe for the betterment of mankind or detriment ie global warming. The Bush Administration is trying to change the science on that as well. I think he, Bush, is much more concerned with power and greed than the will of God. I think the GOP is giving God a bad name.

i believe in both evolution and intellgent design. things are too perfect and set to not have some kind of mastermind behind the entire thing. i would like some proof sometimes aswell, but at the same time, i cant, no matter how hard i try, just believe evolution stands alone for all of creation. god made many, many things, simple and complex, and while i don't think the bible is lying, i think it may have a few stretches and pulls, and honestly, i think the book of genesis was really stretched over a long period of time, not a few mere human days. reading the bible takes perceptions, and reading in between the lines, in depth, to really understand evolution AND intelligent design.
edit: it's funny how someone went through all of the answers, and anyone who believes anything about the bible got a thumbs down. and you people talk to us about being closed minded.

Your are asking a question whose answer would require that both propositions are equal. They are not.
The creation of a human eye by an intelligent being utilizing existing material vs. the development of the universe or anything for that matter by a completely random force that has no material to start with are in two different categories.
Therefore your question is a non-question because it's illogical.

God may know the secret of recompiling atoms as He sees fit. Then this handful of dust can be practically whatever. This is the best excuse of an answer I can imagine of...

Well, how did evolution do it?
That's also far-fetched, if you think about it.
People need to stop focusing so much on how the world started and how it's going to end and focus on what's going on right now.
Edit: as far as God picking up a turd...watch The Holy Mountain.

"Actually, there's a recipe, but it's a "secret" recipe that only God knows, and you'll have to ask him if/when you get to Heaven." That's basically what I told my son when he was 5. I don't think you're 5, but your question reminds me of something a 5 year old would ask. ;)
