I live next to a crazy cat lady. She feeds all of the stray cats for miles. She is insane and there is no reasoning with her. They have taken to living in my garage and it's driving me nuts. They spray, the pee, they poo . I've tried buying the coyote pee crystals and they actually ended up rolling in it - I guess they thought they were cool, smelling like coyotes. Anyway, other than burning my garage down, there has to be something- a sonic device or what have you. People mention citrus, but I figure if they roll in coyote pee, a little lemony fresh scent isn't going to spook them. I don't want to catch them because A) the crazy cat lady would probably call the police on me and B) they are very skittish and I'd have a better chance catching Osama Bin Laden. And no, I am not going to get a pellet gun.

Thanks in advance for any help because they're ruining all my stuff in storage. Oh, and by the way, the way the garage is built, it can't be sealed and they find a way in.

ok i am a crazy cat lady but not that crazy. that is just rediculous and illegal. if its desterbing you and your propity, then YOU MUST CALL ASPCA AND/OR ANIMAL CONTROL. What she is doing is wrong. she may not think she is doing wrong but she is! and i cant belive dumbass people exist. she is making the problem worse cause by feeding them, they now have a sourse of food and so will not go away. even i know that. (plus my cats are so spoild and like having 4 2yr olds, i dont want any more also they are very alpha)
also i saw on animal cops detroit on animal planet that by feeding them and them around all the time, she is claiming them as hers and having that many cats is illegal.
now you can be anonymous when you call the aspca, or also you can get a friend or another neighbor but there will be no way you will get in trouble. SHE IS AT WRONG.
TAKE PICTURES OF THIS, VIDEO TAPE HER DOING THIS, GET ALL EVIDENCE RECORDED. AND REPORT HER.
i love cats but this is not right. if those cats are invaiding your property and she is feeding them then she is at fault and YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO TAKE LEGAL ACTION!.
WHEN THERE ARE THAT MANY CATS, YOU MUST CALL ANIMAL CONTROL. yes its heartbreaking but some people really need to learn. feeding 1 or 3 cats is ok but 20-100 or a whole neighbor hood is unacceptable
those cats can be carrying bad harmful diseases that if theres kids in that neighborhood, shes endangering them too.

another good temp. thing, since its summer time, have a sprinkler out and close by the garage. but theres not that much to do to keep cats out but this will help alittle

I felt that way when I was 30. I remarried and it was a total disaster. In fact I'm still paying the price at 54. So rather than allowing yourself to make a decision out of fear, why don't you make a serious effort in getting married? You obviously don't want to be alone. Your feelings are valid. If you feel that being married is what you need then get married. It may take a year or more, but who cares? Try a good match maker service. In the past I've heard people say that it would be 'scraping the bottom of the barrel'. This is not true. Most people I meet have met their spouses through a match maker! Dora is right, being married is no guarantee those things won't happen. However you have time to find a good match, and start your retirement savings. Life is easier when you've married well.

Can you put screens or netting over the holes they get in?

You can use moth balls, cats hate the scent of that and won't be near it.

A call to a vet's office will get you some more info on what repels cats from an area.

Actually people CAN feed the cat colonies, it's ok in nearly all major cities, especially where TNR is used. But I understand how it can also be a potential problem as well. Stick with using a repellant, just hanging 5 of 6 mothballs into the toe of a stocking near any opening to your garage building should do the trick.

OK first of all she is not allowed to feed every neighbor cat. It's agents the law. Call SPCA. Some one will come out and talk to her. No the other people well not know it was you, but you well have to tell the SPCA. I had this happen to me I have 11 cats but most are in the house, No my house doesn't stink I take good care of it. But Good luck in cleaning up all the mess the cats has caused.

Hi try placing humin hair clipping around your property line as well try orange peels or a mixture of hot sause mixed with equar parts water and some dish soap. Thsi will keep the cats away and any other critter from your property from the smell. I have used it it my garden to keep the cats out it works well just reaply after it rains.

contact your local animal control/or humane society. they should be able to provide some type of help in removing the cats. I love cats, but if the neighbor is harboring strays w/o good medical care or spaying/neutering this isn't healthy. Like I said I love cats/ but people first then the cats.
Good luck.

There is a product called "Skunk Shot" and you get it from a garden center or hardware. It's sold here in New Zealand, and it even keeps me out of the garage. It is a powerful animal repellent. Only other thing you can do is get adog.

I would definately call animal control. If you've already attempted to speak with her and she's unreasonable, that's your next step. They'll probably come and remove the animals for you besides....it may be illegal to feed wild cats. In any event, I'd let the law handle it.

Arm yourself with a low pressure squirt gun or garden hose with a spray nozzle on the end. They hate getting wet, and it isn't cruel. If they get nailed everytime they go over, they will start seeing your place as unfriendly. Good luck!

You are funny.I do understand what you are dealing with.Get yourself some moth balls and spread them around where you don't want the cats.Works every time.

P.S. you may smell like a little old lady but it's worth it.
