honestly if I were you -- I would tear the carpet up and get a new one. . .
it's a small price to pay -- instead of losing another pup

You can't bleach the carpet? How come?
You can always call the carpet cleaning guys to do it for you.
Or..take out the carpet and put in new carpeting. That would be my last-ditch effort.

You have to do something to get rid of the parvo on your carpet because I'm sure your puppy did more than just walking on the carpet.

I'm sorry for your loss. Our dog had parvo when he was a puppy but we managed to pull him through it. I don't wish that on any dog. We were scared to death he wouldn't make it. Anyway, do you have, or are you planning on getting, other puppies or dogs? If not, you don't need to do anything right now. If so, you'll need to clean the carpet repeatedly (three or four times) with an extra strength cleaner on the order of lysol, but stronger, if you can find one and even that may not be enough. They say to wait AT LEAST 6 months before bringing another puppy or dog into the household.

simply clean the carpet with a carpet system like rug doctor, then when it dries, spray it with disenfectant ( do a small area first to make sure it doesn't hurt the carpet color) Meantime, parvo is very contagious to other dogs. try not to let them near the house, till you get it disinfected. My dog caught it from the neighbors dog, thru the wooden fence between the houses! That's how contagious it is.

Same thing as your wood floors - make a solution of bleach and bleach your carpet - or pull the carpet up and get rid of it.

No more puppies pls - parvo is easily prevented by vaccination, but it is a killer of puppies if they are not vaccinated.
