I have two labs. I used to sleep in the living room on the couch for a few months and they got used to sleeping with me. Now that I am back in my own room, they want to sleep in their with me. They lay at my door and whine until I let them in. In fact, any time I am in my room my dog Roxy will lay their until I open up the door. I feel bad hearing her whining and sighing all the time.. Is there an easy way to get her to stop laying at my door?

The easiest way to end the whining is to ignore it. Don't feel guilty about it. They are trying to condition you to do what they want.

Be stern with your dogs. You are their pack leader and you control them, they don't control you.

When you go to bed, tell them to stay. Then just turn your back and go in your room. If they whine, come out of the room, and pinch them on the neck while hissing at them. This is the kind of nipping that leaders of natural dog packs use to correct the inappropriate behavior of other pack members.

Go back into your room. If the behavior continues, correct them again. Also, consider locking them into another room that is not adjacent to yours.

Remember, you are in charge and, as such, you have the right to determine the sleeping arrangements of the pack. Not them. If they have a problem with it, they'll get over it.

No, not really. They are pack animals and you are their pack leader. They just want to be with you. I hardly ever close the doors on my pets, even my bathroom! LOL.

They love you, I'd take it as quite a compliment. =)

try keeping her outside or try giving her a toy to play with in another room.
