If a Muslim said Asalumalakum my sistah(sp?), how would you feel?
Almost the same thing.
Ok. Think about it this way. There's the preppy cheerleader girl (the Christian) always happy and jumpy and there's the dark haired realist of the school (atheist). The cheerleader "jumps" toward the realist and squeaks "Have a "Cheery" day!" This is what the realist heard "I'm preppy and annoying and squeaky and blah blah blah day!"
This is just my vision of what I think sometimes (I'm not an Atheist but I don't like the God Bless you thing)

yes, atheists are all cold-blooded murderers.
Actually most people don't know I'm an atheist, and I get that all the time - I just say 'thanks' since I know the intent is to be polite. Attempted courtesy does not offend me. Now, if someone got in my face and said that in an attempt to convert me, I'd get snarky with them. But not violent.

No. He/she will not kill you. She (atheist) does not believe in god, but she understands the meaning of god. She understands that somebody loves her. She understands that an idiot who believes in god has good feeling towards her. An idiot who looks smart with good heart has liking for her. Now why should I (atheist) kill somebody who has sympathy for me and want to help me. If I (atheist) kill him/her, by doing that act I am not killing her, but my self. Do you understand..... My dear ms/Mr. Curious?..

I don't think it's likely that an Atheist will kill you. They will probably smile and take what you said for what you mean in it. But it's sort of like... waving your idiocy in our face. God bless you is like me saying, "Allah bless you, Buddha blesses you, Zeus blesses you.." How would you take that? You would think, oh- they are being polite.

If saying that is offensive I would probably offer them a small pkgs of Kleenex instead. God doesn't bless those that do not believe so it is a useless to them.

Don't worry. If you tell me that, I would not pop. I just hear people say that every so often. It is nothing, but words.
It sounds better than if, say, someone would approach me and say "f### you" instead of "bless you."

a woman on the bus said it to me and a friend before, i just said you too, but my friend was like 'i dont believe in god'
neither of us do so thats two different reactions to it.
