Being sincere and moral doesn't allow one entrance into the abode of God. Also whose morals are you basing your question on? For example, some people believe it is moral to kill...is this acceptable before God? Of course not (Exodus 20:13). The fact is that for the perfect moral law there must be a perfect moral law maker - who is God Almighty (El Shaddai). I can be sincere in my belief in capital punishment yet this does not mean it is acceptable before God.
Of course it does matter what one believes, how can you expect to please God if you believe something contrary to His law? If you did you would be an apostate that the author of Hebrews talks about. Apostasy means you were never a Christian in the first place. Our Lord and Saviour Jesus said that He is the ONLY way into the house of God (John 14:6).
Sincerity and morals (of course, depending on what society's morals) do not necessarily mean one is saved by the grace of God.
The writer of James informed us that faith leads to good works and moral actions and Ephesians 4 says that by FAITH we are saved, not by being a sincere and good person.

Yes it matters.
25 years ago we had a problem with Tylenol at one of the drug stores near where I lived.
Several people who were very sincere in believing they were taking Tylenol, died, because in fact, there was cyanide in the package.
Jesus is the only way and yes its important you believe the truth and not a lie.

What if someone is sincerely wrong?
Adolph Hitler and Al Capone thought that they were moral people, according to their public statements. But other people would not agree.
Jesus said that he was the only was into heaven. I guess that any Christian will just have to accept what Christ said.

i am a Christian. perhaps i am not a very good one but i don't feel that one has to be a Christian to go to HEAVEN. i feel that as long as I live my life the way that GOD wants me to and i do not harm others intentionally and i live a moral life and a compassionate life that GOD will take me to HEAVEN. I just got so sick and tired of the different Christian religions saying if you don''''t believe the way my church believes you're going to hell i figured that the only way we're going to know is iwhen we get there by that time it could be too late. so i believe that after death GOD gives us another chance.

Being sincere and moral helps, but as far as one believes...that's the question. So many gods...which one to choose? JESUS DIED FOR YOU BECAUSE HE LOVES YOU, now tell me, what other gods has done that for you? To me it shouldn't be that hard deciding what to believe.

You asked so I guess that means we can tell you why we said faith is what matters not works and not living a "good" life. This will explain:
To bake a chocolate cake you add a lot of wonderful ingredients. Sugar , Flour, Milk, Eggs, Coco.. You mix them in a bowl and and bake then until the cake is done to perfection. But would the cake be good for anything if one one of the eggs was rotten? All those wonderful fresh ingredients ruined by that one bad one... Our lives are like that we add wonderful qualities like love, kindness, compassion, charity. Then we add anger, hate, lust, lies.. We stir this up and bake it for 70 years or so then offer it to God.. Can't you see unacceptable this is to God. Would you want anything given to you that was so filled with filth? No we can't make ourselves acceptable to God. He did that for us in Jesus Christ. He offers us His righteousness and willingly take our sin and covers it with His own blood.. All He asks is that you except the gift of life that He offers.... Jim

How can you divorce morality from what you believe?
If you believe human beings are worthless animals to be used and manipulated for your pleasure where is there any motivation for morality?
Your argument is philosophically untenable.

I'm afraid not. Just as there was only one way to be saved from the world wide flood (Noah's Ark), so there is only one way to be saved from eternal death (Jesus Christ).
