YES!!!!!!!!!
If you are the bride to be, bring her a bouquet of flowers with a thank you note attached.
I didn´t do this for my shower, and felt so bad that I sent the hostess a bouquet of flowers a week later and the card attached thanked her for such a wonderful shower.

In my area hostess gifts are not given. But in the areas that they are given, I think its usually done after the shower (like the next day) as a thank you. But no matter what a gift does not take the place nor negate the need for a heartfelt Thank you note, so be sure to include that as well.

I have never heard of giving a hostess of a shower a gift. BUT, flowers are always a welcomes addition, if you really feel that you want to give them.

Well, if you mean the bride, then yes you always bring a gift. Sometimes she will give you a list online or something of gifts she wants, otherwise, just get something nice, like kitchen appliances. If it's formal dress then you should probably expect to bring something from more than $30.
As for the hostess, which is usually the maid of honor, no, you don't normally have to bring a gift, but it is very kind to. If you do, then it can be something small like flowers or soaps. If you are going to bring food, which is usually very appreciated, you need to call and let the hostess, or bride, or maid of honor know in advance, usually by a couple weeks.
Hope this answered your question.

The bride should always give a gift to all of her hostesses.
It doesn't have to be expensive, just heartfelt. Anything is appreciated. Maybe a gift card to a restaurant she enjoys or a gift certificate for a mani/pedi.
Generally, the hostesses take care of all of the food and flowers, so you shouldn't worry about any of that. Sit back and enjoy.

The bride should always buy a gift for the hostess. It doesn't have to be elaborate, but something personal would be nice.

No, you don't bring anything for your own shower. Later, send her a lovely thank you card. If you do want to send flowers, do it after the shower is held.

Being the bride you shouldn't really have to bring anything. It may be nice to offer to bring a dessert or something. Or if there will be alcohol you could bring your favorite wine to share.

If its your own shower then you don't have to something like that but it would add a nice touch. At my sister's shower she stood up and made a speech thanking everyone but everyone is different.
