Routines are a must! Set times for everything and try to stick to it best as you can. (I know life don't like routines) lol
As to clam him down turn everything off. There might be too much going on around him.
Sit him down look into his eyes and softly calmly talk to him. With kids of this nature yelling or punishment doesn't do well. The best thing I found is trying to get him to quietly and calmly to sit with me. Then after that happens we go back to what we were trying to do before all over again.
Good luck its really hard and just know that other moms are out there going through the same thing. We are all rooting for each other!

you have to be calm, and use constant eye contact (sometimes auditory sensitivity is confused with autism/slight.) Also, look up Qigong massage therapy research in your area, or online. My son is in the middle of it now (same age) and we have seen drastic improvements!

Check out the site below. Autism is preventable and treatable. (I am not in anyway affiliated with the website.)

Autistic children thrive on routine. The more structured and consistant his days are, the happier he will be.
