Or parapalegics? Stay with me here. Most theists believe that God answers prayers, and that God answers prayers about healing people and does in fact heal people. So isn't it EXTREMELY ODD that God never, ever, grows someone's arm back, or reconnects a completely severed spinal cord? Or gives sight to a person who has always been blind?

I know there are old fairy tale stories of God doing awesome healing (even bringing long-dead people back to life) but there is NO EVIDENCE of that in reality. Isn't it odd that God cannot heal anyone beyond what medical science is capable of?

Ahem, note I said most theists believe that God answers prayers and heals people. So it doesn't matter which God you believe in as long as you believe God heals people!

As for the "evidence" one person mentioned. THERE IS NOT A SINGLE DOCUMENTED CASE OF A PERSON'S LIMB GROWING BACK. Anyone who could document such an occurrence would be incredibly famous. It would be one of the biggest stories of the decade. So please don't insult everyone's intelligence and claim it has happened already. Put up actual evidence, or shut up.

*christian247365* What the hell are you saying about answers to prayer? Yes, no, maybe!? Does that really convince you??? You know what that actually means? IT means EVERY SINGLE TIME an amputee or a paraplegic or a person who was blind since birth prays, the answer is no.

Well, I know Im gonna catch crap for this one, but I know why amputees cant grow back limbs....

When you are missing an arm or a leg, you cannot properly get on your knees and put your hands together to grovel to the man in the sky for a new pair of legs or arms....

Makes sense, right?

It's not that God cannot, it's that He chooses not to. Big difference there. We don't know the final outcome, why what happens to us has to happen, but He does know. That amputee has gone thru a traumatic experience, and just maybe that experience will profoundly change that persons life, maybe spiritually for the better, maybe not, but somehow, it will have an effect on someone. God sees the big picture, we only see the here and now. We can't really comprehend how the loss of a limb, paralysis or blindness will effect someone two or three generations later, but He can. Just because we don't understand the reasons doesn't mean they don't exist.

God does answer prayers. His answers are...Yes, Maybe in the future, or No. Everything happens in a person's life for a reason. I had terrible things happen to me as a child. (No, I won't go into detail.) And today I'm very protective of children. I also love to teach children about the love of Jesus Christ.

This one is easy to answer: because God doesn't exist.

Testimonies mean nothing to me. People can be deluded into believing anything. If you can show me someone's arm growing back, maybe I'll believe God healed them. Until then....

This is like asking God to give us the lottery numbers, no can do,.... we have to make adjustments in life and this is one of many hurdle's we will have to go over. Life is a test of inner faith.

It's not odd when you think about it. There is no God. And when people know they are being prayed for they tend to do worse. I'll send you a link to one of the studies.

Um, because characters in made-up story books can only entertain, not grow limbs.

He does, there's a lot of people who have lost limbs or who have been paralyzed and were healed. Just because some dork had a website asking the question, doesnt mean it's true. All you need to do is check out the testimonies of people God has healed.

There's a difference between healing and restoration.

i don;t know why. and i really struggle with that in faith. i guess you gotta look at it that He's allowed all these developments in prosthetic limbs and stuff, as a substitue...but i can't answer why it happens in the first place. hmm...it's tough when you have to answer that in your faith, cos you'd hope He would...
