It is yahoos way to make you come back more often to accumulate points. AND If you are being a jerk and abusing the privilege, there is limited damage that you can do in one day. IMHO.

Probably so that trolls can't continuously post stupid questions all day long...

To get you to stay. You stay long enough, and you get more answers. I, for one, have unlimited questions and answers. It is reward for sticking it out and answering a lot of questions.
