The man is a genius when it comes to dog behavioral studies. Watch his show some time. If you have dogs, his book "Cesar's Way" is absolutely required reading. In it, Cesar describes all of the things that we dog owners are doing wrong. That's right - *we* are the ones with the problems that must be corrected, not the dogs. Even if you don't have a dog, it's very interesting reading and I highly recommend it.

He has his approach as each trainer does. He uses behavior modification & not just a method, where most trainers use one specific method to train a dog
It takes a lot of study & instinct to do what he does cause he understands Canine behavior as it is. Not implying any human behavior into anything they do.
Canine Behavior governs all Canines, Wolf, fox, coyote, & our domestic dogs, too. Once you study these creatures & watch them in the wild, you'll find that the behaviors are almost identical to our pets.
My study was the Wolf along with our pets, as well as animal behavior as well. You need to understand the makings of a pack & understand why each animal in the pack holds their specific positions.
When you understand Canine Behavior you have a whole new windjow of insight.
Yes, I believe that he is very capable of rehabilitating ( modify the behavior) of a dog.
Something so simple as a posture has many meanings & even intent. You just got to understand & know what & why you are doing specific things, movement, eye contact, posturing, temperament, doninante vs. subordanent

He's turned a gift for handling dogs into an empire, so you have to give him credit for that.
He does know dogs, but he makes it look a lot easier than it usually is. He's on a timeframe because of his show's length and that gives people unrealistic expectations. Most dog training and therapy takes a lot longer than a couple of minutes the way Cesar seems to do it.
Get some good books on dog behavior, you can be good at it too if you are interested and have patience.

I have worked with animals all my life, and yes he is a gifted animal handler. Unfortunately their are people in the animal world always thinking their way is the best. They learned some technique from one person & they think that goes for all. Very closed minded. He's out there & helping a lot of people that are clueless about animals. He is the first to tell them if it is not advisable to do by yourself. He could put a lot of trainers out of bussiness, that's why they don't like him. New is always hard to except. The same thing happened w/ the horse whisperer. Just because THEY don't know it, or have the talent to do it, It's wrong. You never learn much that way.

Actually, I just started to watch his show the Dog Whisperer on National Geographic in search of answers for my unruly doberman/shepherd puppy. I have implemented his techniques and just one week later I have seen significant changes in his behavior for the better. I think Cesar has a lot to offer both the dog and its parents. Watch the show, it will surprise you.

I don't think he has any formal training but he certainly has a gift with dogs. I've watched the show quite a bit lately and he seems to really know instinctively how to deal with them. Good instincts are better than formal training in this case.

He does a great job. I've learned a lot from him. As it says on the show, untrained people should not attempt all of his training techniques at home. I've watched medical shows, but I wouldn't attempt a dangerous medical procedure. Use his techniques, but call a professional for dangerous dog behavior.

You should watch the show! It's pretty awesome.
He turns bad dogs into good dogs, so I'd call him a rehabilitator.
