Well, if he could remember the words it could be useful. Perhaps they had something to do with the what he was feeling.
I have a feeling that your husband is worried about something, almost terrified. It's something that's looming ahead, and he knows that it's coming, he just doesn't know when. The bad thing coming is represented in the dream as the blue mist. The reason I know that he doesn't know when it's coming, is because it surprised him. If he knew when the bad thing was coming, then he would have known the blue mist was behind him, but instead, it surprised him.
He is already begining to feel the pain of this fearful thing already, which explains the writing in the back. Again, the words would have been able to specify certain details, such as, what he was afraid of.
Him being in a graveyard suggests that he might be afraid of death, I'm not sure if it's his, or someone elses. These dreams are usually caused by triggers. Whether they be emotional or physical. Perhaps you and your husband could piece together the dream from what I've told you.
Hope this helps!!!
That's right, I almost forgot to add this. I know that one of your answers says that blue is sadness, but that's not true. It's been proven that colors in dreams do mean somethin. Red is anger, black is fear and isolation, and blue is calm and soothing. Though, that doesn't really make sense in this dream. Just thought you'd like to know.

Hmm I'm gonna guess a little on this one it might just have been a nightmare, but if it has a hidden meaning I'd guess it would be something like this:-
He was in a cemetry so we know he has concerns about death and mortality (is he approaching a significant birthday 30, 40 or 50 maybe) he is allowing something or someone to write on his back, he knows it's very important that's why he puts up with it until it bleeds, he knows he should know the answer but no matter how hard he tries he cannot see it this is very frustrating, after turning around a blue mist a fog tries to grab him again a frustrating elusive enemy or worry.
I would think your husband is starting to worry about his mortality and his accomplishments in life, he knows he should be achieving something, but he cannot focus on what that something is and he's worried that it should be obvious but he cannot see it!
Give your husband some assurance that he is a success and that he is still young enough to do what he wants to in life, although he probably needs to figure that out for himself.

dreaming of a cemetery signifies a sadness or an unresolved grief which mist can also signify along with an uncertain fortune, the two together means that your husband could have a problem that is upsetting him or an issue with someone that he needs to work out,
blood in a dream is a representation of either love and passion or disappointment and exhaustion.
if your husband has been having problems in some part of his life then he needs to get its resolved, from how this dream is interpreted it must be an issue that is clearly upsetting him.
if this is not the case then its just a nightmare and nothing to worry about

Okay, the first thing is the cemetary represents "death". The "back" represents the place of carrying or bearing burdens. So, what I can gather about his dream is that he is carry too much of a burden on himself to the point of killing himself. Blood is symbolic of life and the words which were scratched into his back may be in reference to what's tearing him down and God was letting him know that stress was going to take him out.

Blue is sadness, hence the blue smoke. But he should'nt worry as this thing did'nt catch him. So my feeling is as soon as he woke up, that dream did'nt exist. So therefore can't do any harm. Hopefully he won't dwell on this as its not in this life. Plus he might have been a bit anxious before he went to sleep and this can cause negative dreams. lol
