Time and again it's proven that the precence of illegal immigrants in the work force drive down wages. So if liberals want higher wages, shouldn't they want to stop illegal immigration?

Not only do illegals drive wages down but they increase insurance costs. Hospitals cannot refuse medical care to an illegal alien (at least in CA.) based upon lack of funds and they cannot discharge them until they fully recover. Americans get to make up those costs in their insurance premiums and health care expenses. The majority of illegals driving in the US can not afford car insurance so when they have an accident with an American with insurance, it is the Americans insurance (uninsured motorist) that fixes the Americans car, driving up the Americans insurance rates.

Illegal Aliens drive down wages. Immigration has the connation of LEGAL entrance into a country. So Illegal Immigration is a misnomer.
Higher wages are good for America except Wal*Mart.

Makes sense to me. I thought the main reason they wanted illegals was to increase their base when the illegals became legal and would vote for them. What is mind boggling is unions are pro illegals to increase their membership. The do-nothing dems are in charge of congress and do not even consider doing anything now, because they are confident that they will be in charge of the white house in 16 months. The only question about illegals in the last debate was would you give the illegals free health care.

How about if ALL immigrants come to America, and all Americans go to lets say Mexico. That way they would all be here, we would all be there, and there wouldn't be any more problems unless we as the natural Americans that we are, obviously surpass our abilities and wealth and they all try to re-enter Mexico again. Think of the amazing things we could do if we started from scratch with no immigrants, just us! Let them all take over and we'll just start over. Hey..... it sounded good!!!! hahahaha

Stop paying people in cash. If there wasn't a cash system, ie everything was electronic, illegals would have a hard time getting paid with the 911 security act being inforced by the banks.

They don't really want higher wages. Only a very small minority of jobs are minimum wage (McDonald's starts at $7.00 an hour) so raising minimum wage is a 'we care about the little people' ploy to get votes. They want the illegals' votes.

Illegal Immigrants are NOT driving down wages. The corporations do that. Illegal Immigration can't be stopped, especially the way you'd like it to be stopped. The only way a greater number of immigrants coming here legally is if the whole system, which is riddled with red tape and requires excessive fees to process paperwork, changes. Secondly, do away with the quotas.
