Just wondering. I don't know if it is where I live or just people in general but it seems more people are selfish and want everything to be about them.

Relationships are all about compromise...
when you join two people together in a relationship there are bound to be problems or things you need to work on.
In most cases it's simple things like you love to cook, but hate doing dishes. And he hates to cook. So you cook and he cleans... that way you're both happy.
If you can't comprise and both of you are sacrificing things to be with each other and are both unhappy because of that then you're loosing a bit of yourself in that relationship and it isn't good for your soul.
I think that in order to make any relationship work you need compromise. Without it it's all take and no give.

relationships are all about compromise. If you don't give a little you'll never get a little. But yeah theres a lot of selfish people in the world, so as much as you try someone will always try and take advantage of you. Just try not to let it happen to much without compromising who you are.

NO, but... it is give and take. Compromise means no one is happy and everyone looses something. A win-win solution is best, i.e. you find something that works for both of you and that you both feel good about. Even trades are better than compromise. I will trade you this for that, i.e I will try and you this your way if you will try and do that, my way.
