that it is only 3 months really, so I would say not to expect more than 30 lbs

Without medical supervision, you should try to stay to 2 or 3 pounds per week. My buddy was on a medically supervised program, where he was losing 5 to 7 pounds per week as long as he didn't cheat. And when his losses were only 2 or 3 pounds, they cut his food back further.

I think the min is 50 pounds to be on one of those programs, so you COULD do something like that. But @ 3 pounds per week, you'd lose 45 pounds by Oct 31.

50 might be cutting it close. You'd be more realistic if you expect to lose 25 by October 31st and be happy as a clam if you lose more than that.

To lose weight properly so it stays off, aim to lose no more than 2-3lbs a week. It didn't come on overnight, and it's not realistic to expect it to vanish overnight. Expecting that just sets you up for frustation when it doesn't happen.

You'll have weeks that you plateau. That happens to everybody no matter how well you stick to your diet. 2-3 lbs a week is about all that's safe to lose. Though, normally the first week you diet you lose a lot more.
