The doctor just noticed it quick. My mom thinks some of the early signs of it was when I crawled with a dragging leg when I was little. What could this mean?

England's football captain, David Beckham, has said that one of his legs is much shorter than the other.

According to some experts, this is not unusual. Very few of us are symmetrical down the midline (completely symmetrical). Everyone probably has one leg shorter than the other.

There seems to be disagreement among experts whether this has an effect on posture and back pain.

Some people say that we do get back pain as the body compensates for the discrepancy (it puts the back under stress). Others say that the difference in leg length would have to be huge for any back pain or other complaints to emerge.

I just went to the chiropractor and I have the same problem so I have a "lift" in my shoe on the side thats shorter. If I was to jsut leave it as it is this can cause scoliosis. Because then your spine will start to curve to even out your balance. So i would go the chiropractor and get xrayed. If you take care of it now it will slowly correct itself over the years

Your legs need to be the same length, or a 'lift' inserted in your shoe. (orthopedic device)

If not done your spine will always be out of alignment. And you will have digestion and pain possibly.

hey : )
depends how old you are-- are you still growing?
if you are, dont worry about it, body parts grow at different rates. if you are past growing, or it's been like that for a long time, i dont think there is any danger involved if you dont treat it: but, talk to your doctor. there's ways to treat it, but there is not stress, it isnt urgent. hope it helps : )

It could mean that you need to special-order your shoes. I don't know if there are any medical treatments that can help, though. At least, not from reliable sources.

Me too. I don't have any problems. Unless there is a considerable difference, I wouldn't worry.
