its kind of a drag if you get all 4 out at the same time...here is from what i've known and learned from experience...
the bottom wisdom teeth are the most difficult to get out because they are implanted in more deeper then the top.
the top are easy and usually can be popped out within a minute.
they will inject your gums with numbing...the needle is sore as the meds are stretching out your gum but it'll go numb very quickly....he'll also ask if you want laughing gas (for me was $75, but i didnt take it) just incase you want to relax more. thats totally up to you, but it's not neccesary..
he will say something like "its normal for you to feel pressure as i do this but if you feel any sort of pain whatsoever raise your hand immediately" and then they will give you more numbing...
the doctor will inform you of everything..id say it'll take about an hour to get all of them out...he will give you all instructions on what to do, and as for the gaps, he will give you a water sucker that you can inject water into your gaps to get food out once you are able to eat again...
and don't worry about the medicine...it does work..make sure for the first 3 or 4 days that you take it promptly when you need to , to avoid any soreness and misery.....also once you get them out, it will make you very sleepy and drowsy (the meds) so get some rest and dont drive anywhere!

Tooth extraction can vary a lot from person to person. Some are more sensitive to pain than others. Some have wisdom teeth that seem to pop out easily while others have teeth that just seem to hang on for dear life. And, frankly, some doctors are just better at it than others.
My first two wisdom teeth came out with Novocaine only. Guess it wasn't horrible, but wasn't pleasant either. My last two came out while under a "twilight sleep" and that was much better. I was completely asleep for the whole thing.
Either way, your mouth will be uncomfortable for a few days but they will give you some pain killers to help. There will be holes that will need to be rinsed and kept flushed out for a few days, but its not so bad.

I just had mine out monday. Nothing really hurts, it just uncomfortable. My face is swollen (although it looks like it has gone down since yesterday) and a little bruised, but it depends on the person. I was prescribed vicodin and a strong motrin, but I only use the motrin. They gave me stitches too but you still have to be careftul with what you eat. If I were you, I would get all out at once so you only have to go through it once. You will be fine though! Good Luck

It sure isn't pleasant, but you'll get through it. I got knocked out during the surgery. I was in an oral surgeon's office. Nothing got trapped in the gaps. The gaps close up. They will prescribe you pain medication. I just used extra strength Tylenol because pain medicine upsets my stomach making me even more miserable. Have some available just in case.
It is a little disgusting, but you will be fine in a couple of days.

It doesn't hurt much unless the tooth isn't out all the way. My bottom right one wasn't all the way out so the dentist had to like 'dig' and struggle with it. i really hated the stitches i had.
I think i got motrin but i don't think they would give vicodin. It's addictive and can screw around with your sexual drive and whatnot.
As for the gaps just make sure you clean and brush your mouth good, so the gum won't get irritated
Best of wishes and good luck!

the pain won't be bad in fact it will be a relief for the rest of your teeth (from the pressure). but the holes left in your gum need to be cleaned often. the dentist will give you a turkey baster looking thing, it's for squirting salt water solution in the holes. use it. you do not want any food sitting in there, trust me. if you do, you will have the WORST taste you have ever had in your mouth.

You will not feel the pain while they cut the teeth out and they will give you a pain reliver for afterward. Your mouth is going to be swollen and tender for up to a week. You will want to eat soup and soft foods for a while.

I was put completely under. Don't remember a thing. Didn't feel a thing. There is soreness afterwards and you are uncomfortable, but you likely will have no recollection of the procedure like most people.

Sorry :( The tooth fairy will not come pick it up because it's too big and heavy. The tooth fairy can only take small teeth because she is very small and doesn't go to the gym.
