I don't think so. you could get away with a laptop, but when your sharing a room with 40 other guys there is just no room for a desktop. Most ships do have computers for personel use such as sending emails back home to loved ones.

I would say no as well. There are many things to do on board including studying for your next advancement exam and picking up some extra duties to help out the ship.

I dont think so, desk tops take up too much space. I think you never been on ship before. I would recommend a good laptop for you from now on.

no room. laptops are fine, but you will not be able to hook it up to the ships' internet service, or actually to the ship's computer network at all.

NO. If it doesn't fit in your coffin locker you can't take it with you aboard ship. And no you can't keep it or store it in your workplace.
