...about pro golfers using performance enhancing drugs?

Should it matter?

Also...I take a blood-pressure reducing medicine that has a calming effect on my heart-rate. Will this cure my yips with the putter? Should beta-blockers be banned next?

How about Advil? If they ban Advil - 99% of the players would be in deep trouble.

Is killing back-pain or muscle soreness not "performance enhancing"??

I do not think it is a big problem like it is in football but it would be naive to think that there isn't a single PGA Tour player who hasn't tried them or is not currently using them - if using these enhancer makes you hit the ball 20 yards further with every club in the bag, you could win more tournaments and make millions of dollars in a very short time - I'm thinking most athletes want to make as much money as they can so I do think there are golfers on the PGA Tour who take part in steroids or HGH use - who knows? Tiger sure got pretty big and ripped pretty quickly, didn't he? You never know

I think all sports are tainted with the scurge of drugs, but I would say that golf is cleaner than most.

Some of the lower level pros and those without the skills to maintain concentration may use illegal beta-blockers but there is no way on earth the top performers would risk the backlash if caught when the new drugs policy comes into force in January (for the European Tour)

Name and Shame, But it's not just the winning is it, second place down to last place gets the money,it's about getting as far up the leader board come Sunday, isn't it ,and if drugs mean the difference between second or thirty fifth, the temptation must be there!!.

Player is a respected golfer......I can't imagine why he would fabricate such a story.
Fitness & training are much more prevelant in today's golf world. I could see where some players need an edge and take a shortcut.

I hate unnamed players and accusations like this. If Player knows anything, he should tell the R & A or the PGA. Listening to Player lately, he seems like he's losing it a bit.
