guy who certainly "seems" to like her but when confronted he would deny it all? how is that possible to believe? or is it so that guy hasn't thought over it, but does 'things' that sound like he likes her? I am the girl and I always thought I knew what guys are thinking but it was terrible shock for me.

now i do like him and i don't know what to do. when he said it was nothing like that, he didn't mean it and stuff. Out of shock, i thought he's lying or something. but now I think that he is telling the truth, that he doesn't like me. what can I do?

For whatever reason, this guy is not feeling the way you do about your friendship. Its quite a rejection as you obviously thought it was going well. However, he may have very good reasons for it which you will have to respect. Of course its possible to misread someone - When I was very young and rather naive, I had a lad who I thought would be my bf as he was very affectionate and wanted to be with me all the time. I tried to kiss him one day and he sort of pushed me away - I then found out what a 'gay man' was! Shocked I was. So I do empathise. Its never an easy situation but unrequited love tends to fizzle out rather quickly unless you are a poet so dust yourself down and just go back to enjoying what you had together, if thats possible.

If he's really outgoing, he's probably just a natural flirt. I know some of those. One of my friends tickles/pokes me all the time (since I squirm/squeal when he does,) which would totally be considered flirting. It depends on what he's doing, but yes, it's VERY possible for a girl to completely misunderstand a guy. If you like him, it's easy to see what you want to see.

Of course it's possible for a girl to misunderstand a guy... in this case, I think you messed-up by confronting him. Most guys like to do the chasing. Give him something to chase.
If he doesn't go for the bait... he wasn't interested in the first place.

Definetly...Just as much as guys misunderstand girls....it goes both ways. Now if you have feelings for him because of what your thinking/feeling then tell him. Then mostlikely he will stop making you feel as if he likes you.
I've always felt actions speak louder than words but if he's clarified that he doesn't like you in that way, then you know...

Sometimes signals are crossed and misunderstood, but if you feel like you're getting signs from a guy that he likes you, but when you confront him about it and he denies it, it may be that he's afraid of being rejected.
Try telling him that you actually do like him, and see what he says then.

Its totally possbile! Guys and girls are from different PLANETS! You'll find that you're misunderstanding them and they're misunderstanding you about 27 times each day... but give it time, observe his actions with an open mind (because you MAY be wrong) and see what happens!

Welcome to reality, guys make no sense what so ever. Just when you think you know whats going on they switch it up and do something weird. Guys feel the same about us though and thats wher the saying "women are from venus and men are from mars" comes from. Sometimes you meet someone you truly connect with and understand, thats love.

Actually, something similar happened to me earlier this year. I liked a guy, and it seemed like he liked me, because we "flirted" a lot. But when I finally cut to the chase and told him I wanted to be his girlfriend, he told me that he didn't like me that way, and just wanted to be friends. I honestly think it is possible because some guys just unintentionally give girls the wrong message.

it's totally possible for one person to misunderstand another completely. it could be that the guy doesn't want you to know how he feels or is shy or has some other reason to not admit it. maybe he doesn't even realize it himself.
