Thanks for the tips.

To all the people telling me to drink water and study- Just because i drink doesn't mean i dont read books. I've read more books in the past year than you have in your lives- and not crappy Danielle Steele, romance horse ****. I didn't ask this question to be told to drink water.

Hello Benjamin. There are so many good drinks I don't even know where to start. You are in college, so my guess is that you can save more by building your own home bar and drinking at home. You should follow the basics I have at my cocktail sites, my content is really geared towards people like you. Right now I'm discussing the six main base liquors in cocktails.

But back to you - well taste is personal, what do you like? When you get deep into responsible drinking, you will probably move away from Vodka - because vodka is a "pushover" spirit in that it takes on the characteristics of whatever it's mixed with.

You said you liked a White Russian, how about trying a Brandy Alexander? It's similar to the White Russian in that it has cream in it, plus NUTMEG! Yum. Plus perhaps this can start you on the path to exploring other liquors such as cognac, gin, whiskey, scotch etc.

So here's how to make one:

1 oz Brandy (if you can afford it, tell the Bartender not to use rail Brandy but a VSOP grade cognac - rail is the cheap stuff on the bartender's speed rack and I know you're trying to save money - but it does make a difference)
1 oz White Creme de Cacao
1 oz Light Cream
Shake all ingredients in a shaker with ice and strain contents into a cocktail glass. Sprinkle nutmeg on top.

if you like that, you can try the Alexander cocktail which is same as the above but instead of using Brandy you'll be using Gin. A good value gin to try is Plymouth or Beefeaters.

try some good vodka- even if it costs a little more than the cheap stuff it's worth it. grey goose is great- you actually need fewer shots of it so the benefits outweigh the cost. plus, since it is better quality, it doesn't burn as much. you can also try hpnotiq- you can mix that with about anything. jose cuervo is always a good pick too. if you don't know what you like, just go to your local liquor store- they usually carry little tiny one-drink bottles of vodka, tequila and mixed drinks. they're inexpensive and you can get a great variety that way. have fun!!

Maybe it's more of a chick drink, but when I was in college, I drank Slo Gin and Coke - sort of like a kicked-up Cherry Coke. Pretty cheap, without that awful burning you get from other cheap alcohol.

Jungle Juice Punch or Sangria with Carlo Rossi and fresh fruit were always bit hits at parties. We weren't really into "keggers".

"Free" drinks. HAHaHAA!

1) Beer at a keg party
2) Pulling off a 1.75 mml of Jack Daniels at said keg party

Go to Costco or Sam's Club and get the 1.75 mml of the cheapest they have. By in quantity and don't let your other poor college buddies bogart your booze.

margaritas from the jug or buy some of those bicardi mixes that are frozen in the grocery store they are pretty cheap and you can follow the directions to see what all flavors you like and then concoct your own using the ingredients. My favorite drink is Malibu rum and pineapple juice or malibu rum and the peach infused sunny delight they are both awesome easy and cheap!

Mojitos. All you need is one bottle of Barcardi rum. With that, mix lime juice, soda water, and mint leaves. Instant refreshing drink!
