Especially considering the term was first created by a Xian.

The 'X' is actually the Greek letter, Chi, which was the first letter of 'Christos'.

Maybe they are already mad and you just bring out the madness that is already there. Xmas seems to be acceptable to most people so I have no idea why Xians gets them so riled, Jesus X.

If Jesus were gay He would not have been sinless. Jesus Christ was sinless. Hbr 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as [we are, yet] without sin.

The ones who get upset are the ones who are totally ignorant about the history of christianity.

The worst ones are those who, once the history has been explained to them, STILL get uptight about it--those are the ones who are simply looking for a reason to feel "persecuted".

It doesn't bother me at all,but what does bother me is the thumbs down Christians got even though they agreed with you. What's up with that?Do Christians merit a thumbs down to this question JUST because they are Christian? Yeah, and WE'RE viewed as the intolerant ones. Oh, the irony.

Because, according to some Christians, it is a demonic symbol of Satan xing out Christ. I am NOT kidding, I was told this several times over the years, especially around xmas.

And, apparently, again while typing this answer.

I'm assuming the thumbs downs are because I forgot to mention I'm pagan and don't care either way? Otherwise, why are you mad at me for this one?

It doesn't bother me because I know the X is the Greek symbol for Christ. However, I am usually in the minority.

Hmmmm...

Maybe they're using their god as their role model. I seem to recall him flooding the whole world because he couldn't provide any effective legal codes.

mad? actually Xtian can be used to replace the name Christian, like in Christmas = X-mas, because in Greek, Christ or the annointed one is spelled as Xristos....

well you only need to know your history and etymology.... that is if you know what it means...

I find it terribly rude to refer to my lord and savior as X. If you don't believe in Him, that's ok, but respect the people that do.
