I have two one-year-old kittens, and I, too, would be devastated by their unexpected loss. But I would try to focus on the joy they brought me, the companionship they provided, and the unconditional love they exhibited.
I'm a 63-year-old man who lives alone, and absolutely thrives on the happiness my two cats contribute to my otherwise dull and uneventful life.
My "drinking buddies" would think it odd that I had such attachment to animals they consider to be nothing more than a nuisance. But they are a joy and comfort to me.
Losing your kitten is certainly worthy of a few tears. But be thankful for the short time she was part of your life. And, after allowing your heart to heal, go directly to the pound and select a new pet that will bring you love and companionship while you rescue it from loneliness, despair and possible euthanasia. Godspeed! -RKO- 07/19/07

i know how you feel, when my pet rat died i was devastated too. here's what you do:
1) dont get a new one for at least 3 months until the pain of loosing the kitten is almost gone (it will NEVER fully go, though)
2) dont try to not think about her, it only makes it worse and prolonges your sadness, infact, try the opposite and remember her as much as possible, taking long moment just to think about her.
3) keep reminders of her.
4) If remembering her is too much to bear and you are too depressed, DO NOT commit suicide (please note that i am not trying to be funny).
5) Things like this happen, no matter how terrible. There's a lot of people who feel the way you do. KNow that you are not the only one.
6) Just like it said in an episode of "dragon tales" (don't laugh at me, it was a long time ago), "There is no magical cure for sadness".
7) Make her a nice funeral with some of your friends invited. Trust me, it WILL make you feel better.
8)Cry as much as you can. Bottling up feeling is bad, m'kay.
That's all i can say now. oh, and i'm really sorry about your kitten. Feel better, okay.

I am so sorry for your loss. I recently had to have my little 11 year old min pin put to sleep. It is a devastating thing to go through. You must let yourself grieve as long as it takes. You will never get over it but the pain does lessen as time goes by. Talk to a friend or family member about your kitten and how you are feeling. It is good to get it out of your system.

It's very sad to lose a cat, especially a kitten who has a full life ahead of them. I personally think that all cats as well as all dogs go to heaven. There is also online grief counselling for pet loss, which might be helpful. But I think one of the best things to do is to read the Rainbow Bridge poem. I'm very sorry for your loss..

i understand you may experience terrible right now. Pets are like our friends and we like them like that . additionally in basic terms understand too that the guy who hit the cat probably did no longer do it on purpose and that they probably experience terrible approximately it additionally. i became into coming abode from paintings sooner or later and that i watched a cat that had in basic terms gotten hit via a motor vehicle coming any opposite direction from me and incredibly i think of the cat became into in basic terms working from something and ran top out in front of the motor vehicle so quickly the motor vehicle did no longer have a decision. particularly if a cat is being chased via a canines or yet another style of preaditory animal they dont even look the place they are going and that they run so very quickly this would take place. in basic terms take a little time to cry approximately your cat , and in case you may , have slightly funeral for it, that facilitates. In slightly of time attempt to flow to the animal look after or humane society and undertake yet another animal that needs a house. returned , i'm sorry this got here approximately to you, i understand the way it feels to lose that puppy you adore.

You always want something to remind you of the cat, but not so it is to overwhelming. Talk to someone about it. If you have to cry then cry no matter what your friends might say. Get rid of the anger and sarrow that is inside of you.
Sorry about your loss. :) :(

OH, I'm so sorry to hear that. It's such a terrible thing when one of our pets die. Even when we haven't had him/her for that long. And a baby too, how terribly sad.
All I can say is that I understand and you just have yourself a good cry. Find someone to talk to in person. Sending {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}
