I work part time and file taxes separate from my husband, could I claim his casino winnings as income. If he claim's his winnings it could put him in a higher tax bracket, but I would not be effected.

Well, the W2G is going to made out in someone's name, so only that person can claim those winnings. If you're filing jointly, there is no problem.

Remember too that you can deduct any gambling losses up to the amount of your gambling winnings, but no more, so, if you won once but lost on other trips, be sure to claim those losses. You should have some way to show those losses though.

You should ask a tax accountant, but I would think it wouldn't be allowed. If he received a W-2G, his SSN would be on it, and he could get in trouble for not reporting his winnings.

i guess you could but its not your so thats stealing and if they were to find out you would be arressted so i would just trun in the chips and forget about it!
