Every time she is about to eat her food she first takes 2-3 pieces of it (no more, no less) into the living room and drops it on the floor. Then she goes and eats her food. Sometimes she'll go back and play with it (jump back and forth and bark at the 2-3 tiny pieces) and eventually eat it.Sometimes she just leaves it there. Like now, it's been there for 2 hours. What is up with that?!?

If I am sitting in the living room watching tv when it is my dog's supper time she will go get a mouthful of food and bring it from the kitchen to the living room and lay by my feet and eat then she will run back and forth about 50 times until her food is gone. I don't know if she just really likes to be by me or what. It is hilarious tho sometimes she jumps on my legs and leaves a couple pieces of dog food on my leg. I think she is trying to share her food with me.

Mine chihuahua does that all the time, he usually just runs down the hall, gets a few pieces of food comes back and eats them then runs back and forth for more till he gets sick of that and just goes and eats from the bowl. Sometimes he comes back and throws it up in the air and pounces on it and others he just drops it and eats each piece.

My dog takes little morsels and puts them in her crate, I guess saving them for later. She also takes one piece out at a time, runs to the living room, eats it, and comes back and does it all over again until the bowl is empty. Can't really explain why dogs do the cute and crazy things they do.....but I am sure they look at us and think the same thing.

My dog's food is in the kitchen. He will pick up a kibble or two, bring it into the living room, and eat it there...then go back for more, bring it into the living room, and so on like that. It's funny.

Some dogs just do funny things with their food :)

My dog gets mouthful of food, takes it to the living room, eats two kibbles and then goes to get more. She leaves traces of dog food all over the house.

ur dog's crazy!!! lol! My dog does something similar, she pulls a few pieces of food out of her bowl and hides and eats it piece by piece. If I feed her in her crate, she'll bury the dish with her blankets.

My yorkie does that too. She won't play with it. She finished up the pieces and went back to the food and continued to eat.

My dog eats his whole 1/2 in 30 seconds flat then whines for more :P He thinks I am starving him feeding a 21lb dog 1.5 cups a day.

My basset does that too! She grabs a few morsels and comes in the living room where her bed is and eats them while laying down. (Bon bons?) I heard once that it was a hoarding instinct to keep other animals away from their food. I don't know, but it's plausible. And it's cute.

Not sure why but this is an everyday ritual at our house every time she eats. I came home one day and she had all of the dog food from her bowl on one of my rugs, and wasn't eating it at all.
