Mainly because we have better things to do (or at least we think we do), especially nowadays with text messaging available. Yes, we're lazy, immature, and would rather sit around watching TV than talk to someone on the phone, but that doesn't mean we're not interested in you!! Don't sweat it - doesn't mean a thing!

Not all guys hate talking on the phone. A few I know really do hate it!

My friend lives across the country, and so I call him about once a week for about 10 minutes.

He and I are not "big" talkers with each other, but I still show my gratitude as a friend.

Mostly an email is sent about once a week where he seems to talk a lot more in, he seems comfortable with words in text than speaking in voice.

Actually if I look back at it, the guys I know hate talking on their phones.....

Actually my friends only call when it comes to "hanging out" and not calling because they want to talk.....

Something wrong with that picture, lol.

i am a woman who hates talking over the phone, too. It is not that i am anti-social or shy or anything. I am an outgoing person, but i'd like to see the person while i am talking. also, phone conversations are always so forced, too many details, not to mention you don't understand some words because of connection or whatever, and it is a lot of hassle to make sure the other person understood you correctly. you cannot just nod as you'd in person, you have to say "yes, right, got you, whatever" each time to let them know you are still listening. not worth it, unless it is an emergency. i don't mind "hey, how are you, just wanted to give you a call" kind of quick calls. but when he/she starts to tell every freaking detail, i cannot stand it.

I also hate when some people try to act natural -i guess- narrating what is going at that moment while talking to me, like "hold on, i dropped something, hmm, sh.t, i need to clean that, why does this happen to me..blah blah" and i need to wait until she/he comes back to the main conversation.

i don't blame guys. although i have many guy friends who just love to talk over the phone, even when i say "ok then, nothing else to say, have a good night", they are like "hold on hold on...hmm it is just nice to even stay on the line"..ayy

I would rather drive across town and find out you aren't home than call and talk. I hate it. I don't like to talk a lot anyway, but I want to look at who I am talking to. It may have something to do with the fact that I grew up without cell phones and e-mail.

Anyway, I hate holding it to my ear and being stuck or limited in my ability to move.

Because phones don't do much really... I'm not a phone person but I talk to my gf like over an hour when I do call her.

That's not necessarily true. My brother talks on the phone to his girlfriend all the time. My Ex used to call me for a couple hour every night. It just depends on the guy.

There's no point to it. Don't call me up to shoot the breeze... Send me an email or something.
