The scriptures say, everything belongs to God. However in God's system of justice He has granted Satan the "right" to be the "Prince" of this world. The power of this title is fed by the default alliance of people who don't want God in their lives. My question is, if there is such a spiritual battle taking place why wouldn't you want to fight the enemy of your soul? His influence is more visible than God's because he applies carnal and physically brutal methods and these get our attention. Again, where there is smoke there is fire where are all the firemen?

Deke and others, what I'm saying is, the maddness as one of you put it, goes beyond mere eye for and eye it is utterly dismal. It at least hints at something more diabolical than what you present.

Thanks Sue for the encouragement. As for the others. Just like me the lease on the soul that you don't claim to have will expire and then you will see how you are indeed made in the image of the God you deny. You will be IMMORTAL. I hope you change your mind before that day.

Your argument is based on an ancient contradictory book written in most rational people's minds by a violent primative tribal people and later by some people looking to institute political and sociological change. The New Testament is largely based on the writings of Paul who says he never met Jesus but got visions of what Jesus wanted him to say. Do you regularly believe in people who are having visions and accept all they say? The historical proof for the person Jesus really existing even as a human is vanishingly small and the Bible also claims talking donkeys and snakes, and the earth standing still!!!! Its all made up. Sorry!

rofl. The bible is a book written by mankind. It also says a snake can talk, a little boat can hold two of every animal on the planet, all their food, with 8 people to care for them for 40 days and nights, and not to eatshellfish or wear clothing made of multiple fibers.
Think about it. The bible is not proof of the truth of the bible.

So your entire premise is based on a book considered by Atheists to be a steaming pile of tripe. Do you not see the hole in that logic? We don't believe in a God so why would we believe in a devil?
This isn't a spiritual battle but rather a battle to stop idiots who believe in a sky person we have no evidence for from killing each other over it. You currently have extremists in every sect killing other sects over which imaginary sky person is the "real" one and each of their arguments is as unconvincing as yours. Not one shred of evidence is presented for something people are willing to kill for. You want to save your soul, pretending it exists? Help get rid of the stupid belief that people are committing heinous crimes in the name of. A real, kind, loving, and worthy God would see that and ignore your non-belief. Anything less would be unworthy of worship anyway.

Shockingly enough, we not only don't believe in your god but more importantly we don't listen to your scriptures. You saying "but the scriptures say ____ so how can you not believe in god?" really doesn't hold water because we don't believe in the scriptures. It'd be like me saying, but Darwin said evolution was true, so how can you say that there's a god? You'd answer the question in the same way i respond to this one.

I counter-claim that the bible is the default alliance of those who don't want knowledge and reason in their lives.
My response is; since there is no such battle taking place, why would you want to support the enemy of your freedom?

If ? If ? If?
There's always an IF in this kind of question.
There is no spiritual battle -- your question has no meaning!
You are talking like a priest, wanting to get control of other people for your own ego.

Oh yes, how stupid of me to believe in the devil but not God. What was I thinking? Oh wait, as an atheist I don't believe in the devil or an eternal soul either. Whew, you had me worried there for a minute.

This circular logic isn't convincing anyone of anything. There is no obvious battle taking place, nothing that illustrates the nature of any Good and Evil supernatural entities.

The only spiritual battle going on is with humankind blowing each other up over which religion is the real deal, with no proof at all that any exist in the first place.

You just don't get what an atheist is do you? The book you are quoting from means nothing to us, it holds no special merit. You may as well quote from Dr Suess or Harry Potter
How can you not understand that?
