If you are saved, your sins have been put away by the sacrifice of Christ.
If you are saved, you will not habitually walk in sin.
"This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.
My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him:
Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.

Jesus was saying that if and when you die(as we ALL will).. without forgiveness... you will not be with Jesus in heaven.
Forgiveness is available for ANY one for any measure of sin.. There's not one person out there that doesn't need to ask for God's forgiveness daily. None of us are perfect... we all need forgiveness and often.. for mistakes we make and for things that we should do and don't. Great Christians in the past and today are just as imperfect. Daniel in the Bible prayed 3 times a day at the risk of his life to be sure his heart and mind were clean. Anyone that asks God for forgiveness 'with real sincerety can know that God has forgiven them and He has forgotten it... like it never happened.. He said he would separate your sins as far as the East is from the West... how far is that exactly?? a never ending separation! Also, if someone exepts God and repents of their sins.. they are forgiven... If they go out the next day and commit more sins.. they need to ask God's forgiveness again! One repentance does not take care of the rest of your life. It's really obvious... if you had stolen money from a friend...you assumedly would apologize and reimburse them if possible... If you did it again... shouldn't you ask forgiveness again? or should the first apology last for every other wrong you will do until you die?? no.. :O) Also, read Acts 2:38,39 that's the other part of the promise of God... if you want to feel the presence and peace of God on the inside and not the outside only... look into it!!! God Bless You and give you understanding!!!

if we don't accept Christ as the payment for our sins, we will die in them. As believers, we still will sin, however, I pray that this is done less and less. In 1john chap 1- John talks about this very thing- if we say we do not sin, then we lie and truth isn't in us= but if we confess our sin, He is faithful and just and will forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
We are dead to sin, but alive in Christ- does that help?

So it sounds like to live in sin is to seperate yourself from God (and Jesus.) Jesus' blood can clean us. When you are immersed into His blood, it's like standing in the shower. I can throw mud on you all I want but it's just going to wash down the drain. Now, you can choose to step out of the shower (a relationship with Christ) but as long as you're there, Jesus is washing.
