I was called for jury duty once and while I initially appeared, I forgot to call back on the last night to find out if I needed to appear again the next day. Sure enough. I was called. The Sheriff came out to where I work and told me I could either get my butt to the courthouse immediately or he could take me himself. I went to the court which was already in session and the judge dismissed me. I sort of doubt that they have the room or the motivation to put you in jail for missing jury duty but they sure can fine you....

You must go to jury duty. If you missed it you should CALL and tell them you forgot so they can reassign your a day. You can be jailed for not showing up.

You have broken the law, and the law can retaliate.

The process varies by state, but can be anything from a fine that is sent to you by mail, to possibly an arrest warrant.

Laws vary by state. Check your local listings.

You can get held in "contempt of court" fined, jail or both, then end up serving anyway. Whatever you do, dont tell the judge you "forgot". He/She wont like that.
