with my personal experience as a teacher & a student, i dont think these books or packages help in any way. The only thing which can improve your english is "removing the hasitation" of speaking in front of hundreds or thousand people.
Now why do we hasitate? its because, we are not much confident about our english and we feel that if we go wrong, our friends (or your listeners) will make fun of you and will laugh on you and because of that fear, we hasitate in speaking english many times. but which is wrong attitude my dear.
Forget about people what they do. You just start speaking in front of your friends and or you can choose your partner to speak with.
now about that fear of mistakes, its okay if you make mistakes at the innitial stage, dont worry about it. Let them laugh if they laugh. You know what is the best thing behind their laugh? Its that they make you aware at the same moment where you made a mistake.
It happened with me too many times, but whenever they had a laugh, i simply asked, If i am wrong then please tell me where exactly i am wrong and what is the correction?
And this way i could gain confidence of communicating in me.
Now what to do with mistakes? hmmmm..... see once you get habitual in speaking in front of your friends, start reading newspaper loud aswell.
This will make your practice of speaking correct grammer sentances and once you become fluant with it, you'll speak everything correct correct in front of everyone.
Best of luck my dear.. :-)
for any further advice, you can get back to me me any time :-)
all it takes is, removing the fear/hasitation of speaking in front of your friends... thats it.
do i deserve a best answer for this question.. tel tel.. speak speak... lol... :D

I think one of the best ways to improve to english is by simply reading. Read books that interest you; not only are they a great pass time, but also add to your vacabulary. And if its pronounciation your working on, again, to things that you can enjoy and at the same time learn unconciously from (watch eng movies etc). As far the package thing goes, I dont think that any such thing can magically teach you english 'skillfully'. But then again, if you can afford to shell out rs. 2950, go ahead and try it out!

My wife is a native Spanish speaker. Last year she bought a book called
English without an Accent.
She loved it!
She's always telling people how much it helped.
I think she got it on Ebay, but I just looked and you can get it on Amazon.com or Barnes and Noble.
