I'm a guy, and here's what I look for in a girl:
1. A pretty face (75% of first impression, 10% of overall)
2. A nice a** (15% of first impression, 10% of overall)
3. Nice rest of body (5% of first impression, 5% of overall)
4. A great personality (5% of first impression, 75% of overall)
Notice there are two categories: first impression (short run) and overall (long run).
Obviously, this is just an approximation I came up with. Personality includes: non-smoker, caring, honest, fun-loving, intelligent, and down-to-earth

I think with everyone, you have to have a good mix of both, because you cant be completely happy with someone you're not attracted to or with someone you dont have anything in common with even though she's probably the hottest girl in the world. I prefer personality, but I dont really try to start anything with a girl unless I'm somewhat attracted to her also.
To show a girl you have a crush on her, just give her attention, but don't go overboard with it. Try to be her friend, but occasionally flirt with her and dont treat her like she's the only girl you're into, leave your options open, this will make you seem more confident, shows you're not desperate which is a turn off for girls and you wont get all depressed if she rejects you(which you have to be open to the possibility of, if you like someone).
But in the end, just play it cool and play off of what she does to you, if she flirts, flirt back, if she's being distant, ignore her a bit and etc. Until it gets serious, just remember, it's all a game, have fun with it.

i go for a mix of both remember looks do fade and believe me when I say this but when you begin to like someone you begin to like everything about them including what you thought you would never like including things that you may now think are unattrative and smelly. Believe me its weird but all those disgusting things begin to make you feel special in a bizarre way. also personality is what a girl will have for life ( for the most part that doesn't fade) Anyways on what to tell her I would say be natural and take your time and just tell her when everything feels right take her to dinner or a movie, Let her know you like her and not just trying to get into her pants trust your judgement and instincts for the most part that never fails. Dont plan love, just let it happen.

i agree. the first impression (looks) is always important. a guy is going to be attacted to a girl with a cute face, nice body, and nicely dressed. this shows the girls outlook on life to the guy. Once a guy is attracted to a girls look, personality is the most important thing. guys like girls that dont act like they are better than anything in the world. Guys like girls that have similar personalities to themselves.

I actually look for personality. For that second part I dont usually try to give signs that I like a girl.

Obviously looks are somewhat important, they're the first impression you get of a girl. You know what she looks like long before get to know her. I don't need a model, because personality is very important to me.

every guy likes different kinds of girls, I mainly look for girls that are into music and writting and such and are willing to give me freedoms to do things that I want to do, like play video games and guitar and such. Not to an extreme amount because I do want to spend time with her, I just dont' look for girls that are not to clingy.
