If you mean Lytham St Annes, its a nice place, they have a flower show, not so sure that young people like flower shows though, could try the discos!

Lytham isnt a City. Preston is a city. Lytham is nearer Blackpool than Preston. The only thing activity i can think of is Lake Fairhaven where you can hire a boat, or a pedelo. I think theres a crazy golf or putting green near the lake. I've not been there for a while. The actual name of the town is Lytham St Annes. Home of the Royal Lytham golf course.

A pretty little place which is vastly improved by the flights of the Tornado and the Eurofighter Typhoon jets as they take off on test flights from Bae Systems Warton Aerodrome next door.
There are some good pubs and one or two trendy bars in Lytham. A few decent select shops too.
As above, Blackpool is 10 mins along the coast, where there is no end of things to do for all ages.

I wouldn't say near Preston, it's about 30mins on the train away, but less than 10 from Blackpool!
Dunno what the previous perosn was on about flower shows, i've never heard of any and I've lived here for 16 years.
It's a nice quiet place with a lot of old people (whether that be good or bad)
For young people there isn't that much to do, a few sports teams (Hockey Rugby Football etc.) Small nearby pool and cinema complex [not great though], no good 'discos' but shops are alright, quite a few 'one off' type shops couple parks, large green good for sitting with friends, meeting groups

As was slightly mentioned Lytham is a royal links course for golf and also the land registry for the North West of england. I registered my house in Lytham and was refused entry to the golf course for wearing chinos...I got wasted in Blackpool but it is really rough!
