Honey, that sounds like congestive heart failure. Please get your dog to the vet as quickly as possible!

Hun, get your poor dog to the vet, kennel cough can lead to pneumonia. No vaccine is 100% and kennel cough is a tough virus because there are many different strands and the vaccine cannot protect against all of them. You pup should be looked at. Typically, when a dog is infected with kennel cough they "cough" as if something was caught in their throat.
Gasping for air, weight loss, and lethargy are serious symptoms and does not sound like kennel cough. It could b anything from an URI to a heart problem. Your best bet is to schedule an exam with your veterinarian.

If you recently got your dog, and his kennel cough vaccination was done at the breeder, then he or she may not have been vaccinated at all. According to my vet, a lot of breeders say they come with shots, but they really don't. Those that do administer vaccinations, sometimes administer ineffective ones. Ineffective because the transportation of the vaccinations to the breeder may have put it through conditions, e.g. heat, that may have killed the virus, rendering the vaccine useless.
On the other hand, if you got the kennel cough vaccination at the vet, your dog should be immune to kennel cough. It may be another disease. Either way, you should bring your dog to the vet before the symptoms get any worse, or the disease progresses further.
Hope it helps somewhat.

NO VACCINE IS 100%. Bordetella is even less effective. It only protects against certain strains of it (about 4, depending on your vaccine), just like the human flu vaccine. It protects against those strains, and offers a very limited cross immunity for other strains of it, but that's it.
It's very possible that she got kennel cough...however, her symptoms sound worse than the kennel coughs I've seen.
You should take her to the vet right away, because any problems breathing is nothing to ignore.

This doesnt sound like Kennel cough..Kennel cough is just a cough that almost sounds like a sneeze and they do it repeatedly. I would take him to the vet.. He may have gotten something else from the kennel. Good Luck. I hope you baby will be ok.

Yes, dogs can still get kennel cough even if they are vaccinated. It is like getting a flu shot, it only protects you from certain strains. But this does not sound like kennel cough! It sounds like your dog may have somthing stuck in its throat like a piece of bone or toy, or maybe it has had a bad allergic reaction to somthing like a chemical or a bug bite. You should take your dog to the vet ASAP because this does not sound good at all. Check your dogs mouth and throat to see if you can see anything caught in there. If you see anything, don't try to remove it because you could lodge it in further! Take him to the vet!!!!!!

If I were you I would take my dog to the vet right away! My dog had kennel cough and all she did was wheeze for a week or two when I took her on long walks. She was still hyper as ever and slept the same as she would before. It sounds like your dog has some serious problems, dont wait to call your vet to see what is going on!

My dog had kennel cough a few years ago, and this does not sound similar to what he experienced. You should get him to a vet as soon as you can, and when you get a diagnosis make the kennel aware of what your dog contracted while he was there.

This doesn't sound like typical kennel cough to me. It sounds much worse. If he was vaccinated for it, chances are really slim that he still contracted it. It sounds like he got something much worse from the kennel. I would take him in right away. Good luck!

Something similar to this happened to me and I was on the phone calling my Vet immediately... might not even be kennel cough.. for us it was a virus going around the county.
Good Luck

The kennel cough vaccine is worthless. Just get him some antibiotics and live and learn.
