The Navy has many exciting careers in intelligence that allow you to perform numerous jobs. If you are interested in becoming an Intelligence Specialist (enlisted) you will be able to have "hands on" experience with some of the most fascinating aspects of intelligence and guarding our nations most sensitive secrets. Some of the duties you might have the opportunity to perform depend on your NEC (Naval Enlistment Classification) code. New Navy policy states that all Intelligence Specialists must choose one of four NECs (Operational Intelligence, Imagery Intelligence, Strike, and Expeditionary). A large majority of Intelligence Specialists choose Operational Intelligence because it is the most general. Upon choosing one of the four NECs you could find yourself studying images, briefing military leaders, supporting a SEAL team, or planning military weapons strikes. No matter what you decide to do, you will have experiences that not many people can even dream about in he fascinating world of intelligence.

the enlisted ratings are:

IS(intelligence Specialist)
CTx(Cryptologic technition)

CTs have various sub specialties, such as linguistics, maintenance and collections.

the Officer Communities are Intel, IWO and IP.

you will not find much information about any of them on an open source site such about.com or google, owing to the secret squirrel nature of the field.
