It's not a more or less thing. ALL evidence points to a 4.5 billion year old Earth and several billion years of evolution. There is no evidence whatsoever for any creation.

Both sides claim to have scientific evidence on their side. Many people who examine the evidence come out believing the same thing they did when they started because they are not impartial. They are probably looking for evidence that supports what they already believe and discounting the evidence against it.

So this is a judgment call we each make. For me, as a Christian, the evidence for evolution always seems flimsy while the evidence for creating (or intelligent design) seems compelling. But I know people who come to a different conclusion.

I think it comes down to a matter of whether or not God has chosen to pull back the blinders on the person so they are able to see the truth. No one can come to God unless He draws them. Until then they are living in spiritual darkness and the things of God seem foolish to them. But once God draws them they wonder why they didn't see it before.

There is no logical, scientific (lol, scientifical) evidence concerning any "God". Evolution wins.
"If you believe in God it's not evidence you need it's what you believe and feel and that the earth is so detailed and precise a god must have made it. "
---You are a crazy person. You can believe tha pink unicorns made the earth too, that doesn't make it true. You can believe that aliens visit you every night and take you out of our galaxy, that doesn't make it true.
I could sit here an point out a dozen "design" flaws in humans, such as in the eye, an Intelligent Designer would not have placed the neural wiring of the retina on the side facing incoming light. This arrangement scatters the light, making our vision less detailed than it might be.

Scientifical?

Hi.
I am going to amuse my mind. These are such debatable subjects here in R&S. Let me see if I can tickle your funny bone with some out and out logic. But people are going to read into the answers as they will see what they want to see.

Both Creation and Evolutionism start with philosophical premises. Logic in both matters say to me proof on the "scientific" side is over whelming inconclusive in poof and in theory. Never in my life have I heard of a creature changing into another creature. It is not physically possible and it is based solely on speculation. But yet science proved their own theory wrong when they found that the DNA of animals is very different then those of humans. Never was one the other. Man was always man.
But hey lets start with Earth shall we.We can formulate a hypothesis for both sides. Creationists ( Creationists already have the Truth) and Evolutionists (are trying to disprove it) are both given the same Scientific method. Creationists by means of the bible say the earth is the earth was created roughly 6,000 years ago. Evolutionists wish to construct their own truth; the earth formed slowly over billions of years. Both of these are subject to the same scientific method. When Science observe the outpourings of data received they can see that the evidence greatly supports the idea of a young-earth (6,000 years old). So hum.. Shall we look to the moon for one second..The moon is receding a few inches each year. Billions of years ago the moon would have been so close that the tides would have been much higher, eroding away the continents. Again disproving their very own theory that earth is MILLIONS and MILLIONS of years old.The 0.5-inch layer of cosmic dust on the moon indicates the moon has not been accumulating dust for billions of years. The oldest living coral reef is less than 4,200 years old. The oldest living tree in the world is about 4,300 years old. Shall I go on.. No not now.

It's important to also emphasize the knowledge difference between fallible man,and the Omniscient God, Creator and sustainer of all.
The burden of proof is on the evolutionists. Many who support evolution are great at straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel.
It is interesting to read the ramblings of Creation as they try to disprove the evidence for a young universe. See how many times they use words like "we
Believe," "perhaps," "could have," and so on. Evolutionists may need billions of years to make people believe a rock can turn into a rocket scientist, but that still wouldn't be enough time!

Even Better If you can prove your thoughts I would be more then happy to lead you to a man that will pay Formerly $10,000 offered since 1990. Now you can get 250,000 dollars to anyone who can give any empirical evidence (scientific proof) for evolution. When use the word evolution, I am not referring to the minor variations found in all of the various life forms (microevolution). I am referring to the general theory of evolution which believes these five major events took place without God:

Time, space, and matter came into existence by themselves.
Planets and stars formed from space dust.
Matter created life by itself.
Early life-forms learned to reproduce themselves.
Major changes occurred between these diverse life forms (i.e., fish changed to amphibians, amphibians changed to reptiles, and reptiles changed to birds or mammals).

They should call evolution their "faith" or "religion" and stop putting it in the science books across America. Give up faith in the silly religion of evolutionism, and trust the God I know. Its up to you. I made my choice.

Any evidence would be far more than what we have found through the course of human history.

I believe what I can see, hear, touch, smell, taste, and otherwise test. Therefore, science, and by extension, evolution do it for me.

You see, religion and God were created by humankind to keep themselves in check. What sort of benevolent being so lovingly destroys what it has created because we cannot behave ourselves in ways set forth to meet human standards placed upon an omnipotent being?

It should be telling that a benevolent being that resorts to malevolence to deal with out-of-liners can only be conceptualized by the limited imagination of us human creatures.

How telling is it that so many creationists can't accept evolution while evolutionists have among them those whom believe in God?
It isn't the other way around.

But the most interesting comparison that exists between evolutionism and creationism is that both require faith. And isn't faith one of the most important things in life?

As far as I'm concerned, you don't have to believe in either concept at the expense of discounting the other. Yes, I said expense. It may feel easy to dig into one tenet or another, but in the end, what have you done? Experienced all that living good has to offer? Or deprived yourself of the benefits of expanding your mind?

We're not going to live forever people. Live well, treat others well without surrender, and don't think that you can live as a sinner who will be washed of your sins after your life is over. This is the only life we will know, it is imperative that we all make the very best of what we have with what we have. That's what I have faith in.

Heaven and Hell are the states of my conscience from day to day, hour to hour, minute to minute. When I know that I am doing the right things, I'll know when I'm not doing the right things.

All this traditional nonsense about rebirth, rewards, and multi-million dollar cathedrals says all I need to know about us humans. That is that some people can delude themselves into thinking they are to receive immortality through leading those whom wish to follow.

In conclusion, ask yourself one question. If religion and science require faith, then why are the scientists the ones that re-check their concepts, traditions, and practices for the betterment of understanding and awareness?

It is perfectly logical to believe both in evolution and creation. You can believe God created evolution, for instance.

You should not require scientific evidence to believe in God. It wouldn't be faith if you required evidence.

Having said that, Darwin's theory has been tested in many, many ways over many years and generated a large pile of evidence.

Evolution has nothing to do with the origin of the earth. The process of biologiacl evolution began billions of years after the earth came into existence. God did make the earth - through natural processes of His own design. He made the oceans and the mountains - also through natural processes. And He made living organisms, through natural processes of His own design and creation. Science helps us to understand these natural processes. There is no reason to fear scientific truth. Truth cannot conflict with truth. Therefore true religious beliefs are not threatened by facts revealed by science. There however lies the problem. We know that many truths held by various Christian denominations are not true, because they conflict with the beliefs of other denominations, and truth cannot conflict with truth. So it is hardly surprising that some of these untrue religious beliefs would be in conflict with facts revealed by science.

God made the Earth but I do not want to tell you why. If everyone knew how and why, everyone would believe in God. That would destroy our freedom of choice. You must research your own question to find the answer. Get busy living! Life experiences are the greatest teacher. Risk taking is a favorite of mine. Have you ever experienced a miracle? Have you ever been a part of one? You yourself are one because there will never be another human being on this Earth, prior or later that is an exact you. Doesn't your uniqueness inspire you to deep thought? None of this is science. Research childbirth and conception. Why does time stand still when a child is born? Why can you feel the human spirit leave a person who has just died in your arms?It is a great question but the person in the mirror is the only one that will ever give you the correct answer. "Seek and ye shall find".

There is no "scientifical " evidence that god made the earth. Science does not deal with "god".

Evolution, because there is no scientific evidence that God made Earth. However, there is scientific evidence to support a theory of evolution. I'm not saying what's right and what's wrong, just answering the question the way it was phrased.

And anyone who gives a thumb's down to this doesn't understand what "scientific evidence" means.
