If you did not have children? This is NOT a negitive question. I know people think of how life would be without kids, not necessarily longingly like they regret having children, but just as a general curiousity. What would your life be like if you never had kids? I know mine would be pretty dull.

I have thought about this at times when I'm looking at my kids and thinking what kind of life would I be living if I never had them.
I was the kind of person that never wanted to get married and never have kids. Anyone who knew me never would have thought I'd do both. It came as a shock to most and a little getting used to others. So to answer your question I think I'd pretty much be doing nothing. Nothing important that is. I'd go to work, go home alone, maybe go out w/ friends and repeat this process for the rest of my life. I was already getting sick before I had the husband and children. Weird thing is, I didn't even realize how sick my body was. I think w/out my family I would have let my illness take over. Meaning I would have become bitter and not appreciate the things I have in life. I would have let my anger take over and been one sad, miserable person. My family let's me realize that life is precious. My children mean so much to me. I've become a better, less selfish and giving person. For me personally I was given the best in life-my family.

Honestly...I would probably be pursuing my modeling career and going to beauty school to become a professional makeup artist. I would most likely be living in a one bedroom luxury apartment in the Houston Galleria area and just living my life to the fullest. I would probably be in a serious relationship and just enjoying each others company-no kids. I would have my boring, stay at home-under the covers type of nights, but would be quick to join a party if it came up. I woud also try to build myself up as high as I could-financially. I would def. put myself first at all times. Ahhhhh, Now as I wake up from that dream....I would never turn back time. I love my daughter to death and I would just go to pieces without her. She is my better half and I dont know how I could go on without her. She has made me a better person. There are not any words to describe the love I have for her.

I'd be still baking hash brownies and having a grand old time with my good old buddies, and dancing drunk at the bar ----- not a pretty picture as i'm 34 this year! Love my kids but miss the days of freedom and recklessness. I don't miss the old life stlye just I'd still be there if I didn't have kids, it was a way of life for me.

I have to agree with you. My children have been a great source of enlightenment and entertainment for me for over 30 years. Coming from a large family myself, I think I would have had a pretty dull, or at least quiet life, if not for my children. It's really hard to imagine.........

I can't even imagine where I would be. I'm getting to the point in life where I'm almost looking forward to my kids leaving the nest, it will be kind of nice for my husband and I to have more time to travel and things like that, but I can't imagine not ever having had my kids or not being able to call them or visit.

I have kids, but I have a close cousin and he and his wife never had kids. They both ended up with fabulous, well-paying careers, and traveled alot. They both are involved with many committees and causes as well. Sounds wonderful, but even if given the chance to do it over again, I couldn't imagine my life without my kids. But I have to admit that there were moments over the years when I envied my cousin's world.
