Faith as used in the Bible means "assurance"
We english speaking people put our own meaning to it.

The Greek word behind "faith" in the NT is pistis. As a noun, pistis is a word that was used as a technical rhetorical term for forensic proof. Examples of this usage are found in the works of Aristotle and Quintiallian, and in the NT in Acts 17:31:

the variation is that somebody with blind faith is prepared to contradict definitely information. In different words, if I even have self belief in somebody telling me that a dashing truck can not injury me, and that i run out into the middle of a street in front of an 18 wheeler inspite of the obtrusive certainty that trucks have killed human beings interior the previous, then that would desire to be an occasion of blind faith. A rational and healthy form of undemanding faith is maximum suitable expressed interior the Wright brothers occasion interior the previous area. So in end, once you have confidence strongly in some thing that hasn't been bodily shown, yet no one has disproven the two it particularly is no longer so absurd to have slightly faith in an severe declare(inspite of each and every thing we exsist in an severe universe). yet, to proceed to insist an theory or hypothosis interior the face mounting information... it particularly is fantasy no longer faith.

Yes, it can! We may have faith in something, about something, even faith in spite of evidence for something, but if there is nothing existing in the first place to have faith about then the act of faith is not only ungrounded but completely misplaced and without content.

NO. It is quite the opposite. It allows us to make good, clear, appropriate choices in our lives.

I can have more trust with faith. I can feel more safe and secure having faith that the other driver will stop at the stop light, allowing me to proceed through my green life without fear of worry.

Having faith allows me to adhere to the "poison" notice on the chemicals in my house and realize that it is correct to not ingest them. With faith in the manufactureer, I can trust that the warning label is true and correct.

With faith, i can work all month and have trust that I will receive a pay check at the end of the work period. It is not blind faith that I work all month, it is however a faith that makes my life calmer, securer, and able to function without unneeded fear and worry.

...Nope, faith in Christ and His word sets us free to serve Him. As the hymn "Amazing Grace" says, I was blind, but now I see."
...RE: the Christian faith: I believe you don't know what to believe. The Christian faith is a historical faith, based on the life of a real Person, the Lord Jesus Christ, who is witnessed by the Bible, secular historians of His day, and millions of changed lives, and God has left plenty of evidence for the objective seeker – just look.
...Our faith is in real historical things, most notably, the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Eyewitnesses saw Him - the Gospel and the Lord Jesus Christ did not comes from fables, observe:
...In 2 Peter 1:16 we read: "For we did not follow cleverly devised tales when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty."
**
...Now regarding blindness: Look at this from John 9. This is the story of man born blind who is healed by the Lord Jesus.
**
...30 The man answered and said to them, "Well, here is an amazing thing, that you do not know where He is from, and yet He opened my eyes.
….31 "We know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is God-fearing and does His will, He hears him.
... 32 "Since the beginning of time it has never been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a person born blind.
... 33 "If this man were not from God, He could do nothing."
**
...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved. (Acts 16:31)
...Whosoever will, may come.

Yes. Faith is a rejection of the rational process of perceptions.

People have an altrusitic understanding of metaphysics and therefor value the afterlife or life in another dimension or reality, ie. heaven. Consequently they sacrifice their own life and other lives in this reality, universe.

Yes. Faith is similar to denial. It is hope disguised as knowledge that something is real in light of evidence that that something is not real.

"Faith is the substance of things hoped for and certain of what you can not see" Heb. 11:1 NKJV

All I want to be blind to is the ignorance of people who show no respect to others whether they believe or not.
