GOD has been pouring out of HIS HOLY SPIRIT for 2000 years now. GOD is not silent. You've read the testimonies of people who have recieved the HOLY SPIRIT. You've heard the testimonies of the REAL PRESENCE of JESUS in the HOLY EUCHARIST. GOD IS NOT SILENT. And i talk to GOD and Saints myself, as do many others who know JESUS and walk in HIS WAYS. If you want to know JESUS go to Catholic Mass where JESUS is present BODY, BLOOD, SOUL, AND DIVINITY at every mass. Sit before the BLESSED SACREMENT and ask for the HOLY SPIRIT. You shall receive. KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS.
LOVE your neighbor as yourself.
Amen.

Very good question. God is an unchangeable God and he does speak to his children even in this day and age. He has a modern day prophet on the earth today and speaks to him, revealing his will to mankind. You can find that prophet in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons).
Whether or not the earth was created in 6 days or six "creative periods" I do not know, but time with God is not exact with our time. Perhaps during one of the creative periods dinosaurs were placed upon the earth for a purpose. For example, the remains of dinosaurs and ancient plant life make of the resources from which we pump crude oil and other products. God may have provided the dinosaurs for that purpose.
Man (Adam) was the last living thing created. The plants and animals came before man.

you can divide, human existence in different phases, first he talked face to face with Adam, then Adam disobeyed and was expelled. After this he still spoke directly to people like Noah and Abraham from which he chose is people. So from here you can say he spoke to his nation through prophets. Until Jesus came and now everybody who believes in Jesus, can speak directly to him through prayer, and he has given us is words on the bible, also just look at the wonders of the universe and you can see God speaking thru it.
Regarding Dinosaurs they were created together with the rest of the animals, in Job there is a description of an animal which you could clasify as a dinosaur, they did not survived after the big flood, because the earth climate changed. As an example of change, before the flood it had never rained on the earth.

God did not create Adam as the first living thing on the earth, If you read Genisis you will see that Animals came before man. Now if animals came before man, we dont know how long before man. Some of those animals could have been Dinosaurs. God destroyed citys because of their wickedness and he isnt doing it today, but if you read revalations you will see that now, sence the entire world is corrupt, then he will cleanse the world/ destroy the known world and those who are worthy to stay on it will remain.

Maybe its because god is not real?
But Adam was not the first living thing on the planet according to the bible.
God made plants and plants are living beings so they came before Adam according to they mythology and as for Dinosaurs The two creation stories differ on which came first man or animals so there you go.

Don't worry your not the only one confused by all this, a lot of this bible stuff doesn't make sense to a lot of us. If you think about the big bang theory and evolution, none of the stuff in the bible makes sense. A lot of the things that were written in there were nine hundred years after the facts. What makes me laugh is if the Catholic religion doesn't like something they turn it around to fit their own needs, and yes I am Catholic. The Pope lives like a king they eat off of gold plates, in a place, with the best of everything including servents, and some of the best art work in the world, any beggar dieing of starvation would be thrown out on their butts if they even went near the palace, the pope doesn't live like and with the poor, the only example of one that I admire as far as religion goes was Mother Theresa, now to me that's what the Pope should be doing, how can we even compair the Pope to this blessed woman, she lived with, and for the poor, she bathed them, fed them, could you picture the Pope living like this, I think not, that's why when I got older I gave up on my religion. I call myself and agnostic because I'm not sure, I know a lot of this is bologna, but some of it make you wonder. Have you seen St. Bernadette, she still looks like she did the day that they buried her, no decay, she's in a glass case, and looks as beautiful as she did the day she died, and back in those days they didn't have the preservatives that they do today, for some reason they had to move her body and were all shocked to see her looking as fresh as the day she was buried, that does make you wonder. This stuff still does happen today, look at those stories out of Megagoria, where those children spoke to the blessed Mother for days, and the Fatima story, and the three children who spoke to the Blessed Mother for days, and performed some miraculs, the one went on to become a nun and live to be in her ninetys. Who knows why things are done the way they are in regilion, all I know is that I try to be the best I can be, I try to be kind to people, I live by the rules, we all know whats right and what's wrong, not doing drugs, not drinking to acess, not comitting adultery, not bening envious of other people, I think if we all try and obide by these things we can consider ourselves good people and have nothing to worry about.

He did all that stuff back then 'cuz #1 Jesus hadn't came yet, and #2 we have a Bible (that is God's words to us), they had nothing. if your a true Christian, the Holy Spirit will talk to you. God created man and animals on the same day, ( the Bible does mention the animals before man, but it does say clearly they were created on the same day. ( adam was the first living human on earth)

In ancient times when one heard voices, people believed a god was speaking to them. In modern times people that hear voices are schizophrenic and receive the proper treatment. That's why god is silent.
And if Adam was the first human, then who did Caine, his first son marry exactly? Especially since incest is strictly forbidden in the bible. Why aren't christians open to the idea that Adam was not the first man, but perhaps was considered the first jew?
And to iaim2blikjc: They did have scriptures back then, and quoted them often. And if god only speaks to good christians, why was he speaking to jews back then?

...if you look at the bible as your guide, then know that sending Jesus was enough of a sign to us now...
...Jesus himself scolded those who wanted to be shown further signs of God:
Luke 11:29
As the crowds increased, Jesus said, "This is a wicked generation. It asks for a miraculous sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.
the sign of Jonah was His rising from the dead after three days (with Jonah being in the belly of a whale for 3 days)
...however that not to say that He's silent...if you sometimes take a careful look around at things and pray to God for Him to show you His glory, He will...
...and in Genesis, God made man after he made the beasts of the world...thus the dinosaurs would have had the opportunity to live (and die) before man appeared...remember: with the Lord a day is like a thousand years

God doesn't remain silent now, are lives are just too noisy and busy to hear him. God created Adam and Eve as the first humans on earth. Animals came before them.
