Hi Honey. I think it's wonderful for you to care enough about your cat to want to take him to the vet and you are definately correct! When your parents are calm....well rested etc...ask them if you donate part of your allowance money, to take the cat to the vet...would they be ever so kind to allow you to go with them and kitty.
Your kitty has a severe uninary tract infection and that can lead to cancer of the bladder. It is treated easily with antiobiotics and only around $40 for the entie visit & medication & urine test. Not a bad price to safe kitty's life.
The cat is also in pain and leaving it hurt for 1-2 months is a long time for the cat to hardle. PLEASE ask your parents nicely and let them know you do understand the money situation....and offer your allowance money. You can also maybe do yard work for neighbors to earn the money for the vet. If they call and ask for a "payment plan" at the vets office...they will work with you (especially since you are 12 yrs old and paying for this yourself)...they will be happy to work with you and think you are a very responsible pet owner to care so much about your cat.
Blessings, Patti

Crush up a vitamine C pill & sprinkle about 1/8 teaspoon on his food. If he has the crystals in his urine they could be cutting him as he pees. The vitamine C will break down the crystals.
How cruel for your parents not to take proper care of a pet. They could be turned in for animal abuse. The cat does need to see a Vet.
It could be very serious. But try the Vitamine C & see if that helps.
If your parents are low income or recieve government money you can go to the humane society & they will see & treat him at a greatly reduced price.
This worries me that they won't take him to a Vet. I know they are expensive but there are times when you just have to go.
There are several sites that might help you. Just type " Blood in cats urine" & several sites will come up.

Hunny- he needs a Vet and quick...I work for a vet here in NY. When a male cat is peeing blood it usually means he has a bad & life threatening problem. Urineary Infection (UTI) he gets blocked and can't pee. Now being u see blood is usually a sign of cystals forming inside him & they are like tiny pieces of glass each time he trys to pee these pieces cut him inside and cause bleeding. In male cats all of this is extremly painful and he can die very quickly because he bascially is poisoning his own system.
If your parents dont take him to the vet-knowing that there is a big problem they should be charged with Neglect & Cruelty to animals!!! Would they let u pee blood and not bring u to the Doc because it cost too much $$....if thats the case ....You (the family) dont deserve to have any animals if they cant take care of them! Period!!
We are the voices & primary care to our animals - If we dont speak up & take care of them as they trust us to do ...then who will??
Show this to your mom & maybe she'll see my point & GET TO THE VET...and if she doesn't...call the aspca & they will make sure ur cat get the medical attention he needs.
Please for ur kitty's sake dont wait much longer cause he is only suffering. Good luck

Don't you have any money of your own? Anyway, i bet you spend some money on the cat's food anyway. Go to the pet shop and buy Hill's c/d food or Eucanuba Urinary food, canned preferably. Also buy 2 packs of Baytril tablets, 15mg each(be careful, not bigger than 15 mg). Give him one tablet every morning, if he is a big cat give him one in the evening too. Give him the tablets for 2 weeks at least, and see what happens.
Also keep in mind that your cat will probably die if you don't seek medical attention. This situation is very serious, because he can block and not be able to pee. The solution is usually easy enough and not costly if you take care of it in time, but the measures I proposed are sometimes not enough, because the vet has not checked the cat thoroughly. Use your allowance.

Check out "blood in pee" on the Internet and also "cat blood in pee" and get a list of possible problems and cures. Try to search on each disease and rule them out based on other symptoms until you only have a few left.
Call a vet office and ask how much it costs to treat the remaining disorders. Call your animal shelter and ask if there are any low cost treatment centers. Tell them you want to keep your cat, but it needs some treatment. Then you have to come up with a way to make the money. You could do dog walking or pet sitting. You could make flyers and distribute them to everyone in your neighborhood. You could also be a mother's helper and watch children while their mother cleans the house etc. You could ask your parents if there is some way you can earn the money around the house. When your birthday and Christmas come up, tell your relatives that you want money. If the relatives won't send you money, then ask for store gift cards and sell them to your parents for money.
I couldn't afford pets, so I told my children if they earned the money, they could get pets. They have to keep money in their bank accounts for treatment.

My friend has a male Burmese cat called Roman, he suffers from this condition and must be fed on a special diet of cat -food biscuits, the ordinary supermarket bought ones won't do. Crystals have formed in your cats bladder and he needs a vet's attention.
MY friend was supplied by the vet with the special diet cat biscuits but they were a bit pricey buying them from the vet and then she found a supplier where she buys them much cheaper in big bags, her cat is now fine... but I'm afraid your cat will get very ill and may die if you don't sort out what is a relatively simple problem if you get him seen to in time.
Good Luck!

If I were you I'd call up a vet office and ask if there is anything you could try from home. Do you think your parents are abusing the cat? If so you can find your local animal control in the phone book and call them and sometimes they can come investigate. Are you very sure its a boy because if its not it might be some sort of period that a cat has???

Let your parents know that your cat is very important to you and that a urinary infection can become serious. If they still refuse to take your cat to the vet, go to the pound or humane society and ask what to do. They might be able to suggest how to help at home. And finally, if there is no resort, allow him to be put up for adoption. It is better that he get treatment, and you may possibly be able to visit him if his new owners let you.

If you dont get your cat to the vet right away he will die. If you deny an injured or sick animal medical treatment you are commiting animal cruelty.
Tell your parents that you will work it off. If they wont let you I would call your local ASPCA and tell them that you cant afford treatment and most places will help you and offer their services for free.
No offense but your parents are pretty sick if they wont take your cat to the vet. People like that should NOT be allowed to have an animals.
SICK!

Tell your parents that is animal cruelty. If they will not take responsibility for a pet, then they shoudln't have one.
Something is obvioulsy wrong with this animal. I would suggest calling the local animal shelter and explaining the situation. They may see the cat at a discount or even for free.
The other option is you can report your parents neglect to the authorities.
Good luck!
