Drinking water with a straw could actually cause you to drink more water than you may normally drink which is a good thing. But, you have to be aware that drinking anything out of a straw can increase gas and bloating because you're taking in more air.

It's not true. When drinking soda or some other non-water drink, using a straw will help prevent cavities. If you drink from a straw regularly, however, can cause wrinkles around your mouth later on down the road - so there's a reason not to use them.

Assuming the straw was in a sealed sleeve, it is generally less prone to exposure to germs than drinking directly from the cup or glass.

No, not with water. But, I know some people that will only drink soda through a straw because it keeps you burping. It keeps you from sucking down too much at one time.

Using a straw prevents your mouth from coming in contact with the cup, which I would assume means less exposure to germs and such.

Well, acctualy straws pull the skin around your lips and cause rinkles sooner then they should be.
Straws are bad for that.
I've never heard of any other heath benifets or downfalls.
With soda however, it helps to keep the suger and other bad things off your teeth.
so ups and down.... no with water
yes with soda.

well i dont see how it'd be healthier, either way its water, but if its from bottled water then maybe its so that you dont get anything that could be on the opening of the bottle in your drink? like how they say you really ought to wipe the top of soda cans before you drink out of them because there could be dirt on it, but your putting your mouth on it. otherwise, its all just water. another reason could be because your taking in less at a time or something...but its water...its good for you. ehh im stumped.

Is just slower I guess, and will be more hygienic because you will be touching a new straw, rather than a cup or glass that will have been touched by others.
