In islam, the hadith quotes prophet mohammed saying on the signs of the end of time "..a night three nights long will follow the fog. After the night of three nights, the sun will rise in the west..." and this marks begining of judgement day.

QUOTED 1400 years ago..

JUST RECENTLY scientist discovered that earth when first created (came into existance) used to rotate around itself in just 4 hours... today it is just under 24 hours....

it will slow down to the point where it will STOP, and like a spring, start rotating in the other diretion...

this being said, the sun (to us) will start rising from the west in the morning, (actually mohammed (pbuh) even said that this stop will last 3 days)

some non-islamic links to this are..

http://www.physics.ohio-state.edu/~dvandom/Edu/newcor.html
http://www.howtosurvive2012.com/htm/pole_02.htm

(this may have happened before but how would Mohammed now about it or that it will again)

CAN ANYONE STILL PROVE THIS WRONG??

Dear Khalid,

Proof of a religion's greatness lies in its ability to purify our minds. And I believe that no religion or race of people is superior or inferior to others. It's just that we all learn to look upon that infinite power in our own unique ways. Like different streams lead to the same great ocean, our ways, our paths lead to the same power.

And scientific knowledge of different people have found expression in various other religions too. Let us also keep in mind that religions like Hinduism have gone so far as to propound the 'THEORY OF EXPANDING UNIVERSE' and 'THEORY OF RELATIVITY'- more than 5000 years ago; even before the days of Egyptian Pharaohs. A fact attested by none leading scientists like Carl Sagan and the greatest Genius of all times - Albert Einstein...

( Does that mean you will now convert to Hinduism. Would that be proof enough for you..? Please don't! God has made you a Muslim for certain reasons. And you will attain fulfillment that way. It is his desire and His benevolence that we are all born into different religions.. so we may all collectively understand him)

Here's what CARL SAGAN (1934-1996) the famous astrophysicist says about it:.

The Hindu religion is the only one of the world's great faiths dedicated to the idea that the Cosmos itself undergoes an immense, indeed an infinite, number of deaths and rebirths. It is the only religion in which the time scales correspond, to those of modern scientific cosmology. Its cycles run from our ordinary day and night to a day and night of Brahma, 8.64 billion years long. Longer than the age of the Earth or the Sun and about half the time since the Big Bang. And there are much longer time scales still.

ALBERT EINSTIEN (1879-1955)

"When I read the Bhagavad Gita and reflect about how God created this universe everything else seems so superfluous.
We owe a lot to Indians who taught us how to count, without which no worthwhile scientific discovery could have been made. "

And finally a QUOTE FROM SRI SRI RAVI SHANKAR :

Hinduism is not a religion; it is just a way of life that thousands of Rishis have written about. It is such a democratic religion where everybody has the freedom to think, write or say whatever they want. We have no opposition for any other philosophy coming into us. We have no opposition for the Bible to be part of our own study. Nobody here will say, 'If you read the Bible, you will go to hell'. It is an inclusive way of looking at life, and that is what we need in the world today. We have no objection taking food from every part of the world, listening to music from every part of the world. So we need to globalize wisdom too.
Indian astronomers had calculated that life started 1 billion, 955 million, 818 thousand and 501 years ago and that 28 cycles of yugas have already happened. The ancient sages knew these facts. This is why they devised the mala (necklace) with 108 beads, which stand for the 12 constellations and the nine planets and the 108 different permutations which affect one's life." Everything is this universe is interconnected.

Please read more about other religions. It will help you understand God in a bigger better way.

How do you figure that the earth will start rotating the other way? It WILL slow down, but it will not stop - it will reach a point where it is tidally locked with the sun, so that the same side always faces the sun. That means that it will rotate once per year, but IT WILL STILL ROTATE.

Your version of events would violate the law of conservation of momentum, and require an immense amount of energy to accomplish it. Where would that come from?

"it will slow down to the point where it will STOP, and like a spring, start rotating in the other diretion..."

Incorrect. When it 'stops', it will be rotating even still, simply at 365.2499999 days per rotation, the same period as the year. This phenomenon is known as tidal lock, and is why the moon always shows the same face to the planet -- its revolutional period and rotational periods are identical due to being tidal locked to Earth. In Earth's case, its rotation will tidal lock to the sun.

As it happens, yes, I HAVE studied astrophysics. Thank you for asking.

by this time the sun will probably have expanded and turned into a red giant and then exploded leaving a white dwarf. When the sun expands it will engulf the three closest planets, earth included and the aerht will not survive. I think this will happen before the earth startss to rotate back wards.
And if you belieive god exists because some ******** made a crackpot prediction wouldn'tt you believe in time travel from the time machine or magic from j.k rowling?????

Yes ... remember that the Theory about 12/12/2012 comes from Maya which is a Civilization much more ancient that the Islamic one. And remember that also the Buddha says that this is the last Kalpa (what is a Kalpa? Just get interested in Buddhism, too). Inner Light.

You can't prove the future wrong, but your physics is garbage. Best estimates are that the Earth becomes tidally locked with the Moon and a "day" of 45 days is the ultimate if the Sun doesn't destroy the Earth first.

well, at least you're thinking. but how long do you think it would take for this to happen? after another few billion years (if your theory is correct) the days may be 100 hours long, then a few billion years longer it might be 200 hours long, but at what point would it stop?

we'll be living on other planets way before the days are even 25 hours long

The earth will start spinning the other direction? I am sorry but astrophysics doesn't work that way

What will happen is the earth will get locked in a directional facing with the sun much like the moon is with earth currently (tidal Locked)
.

These things make no sense, and have nothing to do with each other.

The earth will stop and reverse? Where exactly do you see that on the Ohio State site?

Please, stay away from science. You're just embarrassing muslims.
