Tell her!! I was embarrassed about telling my mum that i shaved my legs!!! Then one day i asked her to buy me some razors and that was that. She didn't embarrass me and it got it out in the open once and for all!! Shes your mother and shes there to help.

Awwww growing up it can be tough sometimes. But seriously, you should talk to your mum. I am sure she will be more than happy to help with all aspects of growing up.

Mum's are supposed to be your best friend...so talk to her. She was young once and will surely understand. Oh! and when you shave under arms be careful! And don't use a deodorant of any kind under your arms for at least 12 hours afterwards. It can be very painful, and sting a lot, cause underarm rashes if you ignore the 12 hour rule.

I am sure your mum will advise you on all these aspects. Good Luck

i had the same problem. my mom wouldnt let me shave my legs until i turned thirteen, and by that time i'd had underarm hair for a year (though i'd been using her razor)! i was too ashamed to tell her as well. one day she just bought me a pack of razors and told me i could start shaving. I think if you wait until she brings it up then you'll feel a lot better. It is an embarrassing thing.

Why would you be ashamed? Why don't you want your Mum to know? You are at the age where your body is changing all the time and it is natural for hair to grow underarms, legs etc. Your Mum needs to be aware of your body growths and, unless it is against some religious taboo, she will be happy to buy you your own razor, cream etc. It is not good to use another persons razor, it is unhygenic and if your Mum is unaware you are using her razor she could cut herself, or you yourself, because it will become blunt quicker with 2 of you using it. You could be worrying her, as she may think that you are not growing properly if you are not confiding in her. 13 is the age that you should have these changes and she could think that something is wrong with you hiding it. Speak to Mum, you will probably set her mind at rest as well as your own.

Do you babysit or get an allowance? Disposable razors are cheap, so if you feel embarrased to tell your mom you can buy some of your own cheaply. I don't know why you are ashamed to tell her, but likely she would be very understanding. Waiting till you have a period doesn't matter- if you have hair to shave, then it's time to do it.

I think your mum would understand! She shaves as well, doesn't she? This has nothing to do with your period, just with the hair under your arms and how you feel with it there.
Try not to be ashamed, you will see this will be no big deal to her

Nikki my sweet, it's surprising what mums know, even when we think we've hidden it well, it the seventh sense just after psychic abilities lol.

There's nothing to be ashamed of, it just means your body is developing into a woman's and your mum would have gone through exactly the same thing at your age.

Let her in and she might take you shopping for girly stuff, and that's always a bonus.

tell her that your getting older and it doesn't matter if you have your period yet. i was in the 5th grade when i started shaving because my hairs dark and i have light skin. and i started my period in 6th. tell her that your not doing it for anybody *a boy* just yourself to make you feel more confident. besides, would your mom not shave her under arms when they get long? no! cuase its gross and hair makes your underarms smell worse.
