Lust is purely sexual you have no desire for the other person only what that person can provide you it is simply a self indulgent and self gratifying...
Passion is although similar to lust differs in the fact that passion between two people is usually mutual not always though sometimes you get a lustmonger in there but passion is a more focused desire where it can only be accomplished by certain means localized on one person or idea in which gratification is mutual desire...
-Well this is my thoughts anyway if you feel other wise let me know...

Passion is a very strong feeling about something - it can be politics, a make of car, ice-cream, or a particular cause (e.g. getting rid of land-mines) - anything really - as well as the sexual passion thing. This passion may lead you to, say, supporting a particular political party or working to help others as well as gorging on Haagen Daaz!
Lust is generally seen as sexual and it is usually something that someone wants for themself - a craving, a greedy sort of feeling.
:Lust is more selfish than passion.

passion is something you have while doing, to be passionate, showing your passion while discussing a topic.
Lust is to want for something. (the extent mind is another question altogether lol)
I have described outside of the usual sexual context they are oft placed in. the meanings are still the same tho the sexual aspect tends to magnify them.
both can be involved in a healthy relationship.
people oft confuse lust and love - the start of a loving relation ship as aspects of lust to it - so I guess thats why.

Passion can be for things other than sex - I have a passion for painting using oils - it's not proper to say I have a lust for painting with oils!! Lust is used strictly in regards to sex, and to me, lusting is not a good thing because it is totally selfish.

I think you can be passionate about lots of things - your kids, your job, your significant other, your hobbies etc etc. Lust is more of a sexual term...

i look at passion as a true loving feeling towards someone that makes your heart melt and lust as you think you love this person and you are willing to screw them to find out if they are worth it
