You are correct, small stones between 2 to 7 mm size, can be easily dislodged from Ureters (ureteric calculi) or from pelvis of the Kidneys.

In 2 to 7 mm stones we give a forced diuresis (i/v drip Normal Saline 1000 ml+Lasix 40 mg+bicarbonate+antispasmodic), the stone is excreted out of urine in few drips.
Next lithotripsy using sound waves to shatter the stones, but it has complications e.g. bleeding, stone stuck up in urethra (I rarely recommend it).

Retrograde Ureterotripsy with fiber optic.
Large stone are crushed inside and are easily taken out via the urethra.

REMEMBER THAT STONES IN THE SUBSTANCE OF THE KIDNEYS CANNOT BE REMOVED, JUST LEAVE IT ALONE. IT WILL BE A DANGEROUS MANEUVER BY A STUPID UROLOGIST.

There are medications that lower the uric acid level in your urine aka pee, Once theyre formed they can be destroyed with medical radio waves. Usually stones will pass, though for men its , well extremely painful,
your doctor can prescribe acid lowering meds and pain meds ,
ALSO DRINK LOTS OF WATER and if availabel cranberry juice has been shown in some studies, but not others, to help...and " it couldnt hurt"

good luck

YOur stones are smal and will come out when they feel like it , probably with in a week. I have had any stones and passed them . most were 4-5mm. It is not fun ! I tried lemon juice and olive oil , but that really didnt work. You just have to let it pass.

Yes they can pass. I know my hubby has had them 3 or four times. Drink lots of water and cranberry juice no cokes. Also the Dr. told him to cut out caffeine ( chocolate included). He said it hurts like labor. Last year he had to have lipotripsy done. The stone was to big to pass. If you start passing blood go to the Dr. He passed blood passed out and had a bad car wreck. He survived but it scard me sssooo bad. He said to pass it is painful. Just drink all the water you can.He did pass them . He has them 4 times in our 17 yr. marriage. If you have any questions let me know. I hope this helps..

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.

They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!

This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.

It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.

it depends upon what type of stone you are dealing with...whether or not its an acidic stone, an alkalinic stone etc... this can be determined by tests and a review of your diet...best ask for medical advice to know wat ur dealing with... yes... some stones can be dissolved without surgery...

look this up..acid ash and alkaline ash diet... this may be helpful in determining wat diet modification is right for ur kind of stone
