Tell me about it, please. If you have a Muslim, Hindu, Christian, Jew, Buddhist etc. friend or an atheist, do their religion keep them away from you?

In real life the subject of religion rarely comes up, so it has no bearing on who my friends and acquaintances are. I'm an atheist in the US, which means that most of the people I know are Christians. They aren't bothered by my beliefs, we get along just fine. I suppose some people encounter difficulty in friendships and relationships, but I am fortunate to have never had that happen to me.

I've had friends who were Jewish, Muslim, and Wiccan also. There has never been a problem, we accept each other for the people we are, not for our religions or lack of.

No

when I was small my best friends were Jewish and Baptist and I was Mormon. At times we had to learn that we believed very differently about religion but that never got in the way of building a fort ar playing army.

My Jewish friend was the first to teach me that Jesus was Jewish and not a Mormon -- hey I was 6.

So now I have a healthy respect for the religions/beliefs of others even-though I believe mine with all my heart.

My religion tells me to love all people of all religions, but my friends from my youth taught me how to do that.

No definitely not! I am Catholic and I have a lot of friends with a wide variety of religions... I have a friend who is jewish and one who is hindu. I even have a few who are atheist. We all have fun together and we dont talk about our religious differences so that we dont create any fights. My boyfriend doesnt even have a religion and we dont discuss our beliefs because we know it may lead to some problems. All of us accept each other!

No, I'm Muslim and I have Christian and Hindu friends. My best friend is Hindu, we have been friends since we were 9 and religion hasn't come between us. She finds out about my religion and I find out about hers. Sometimes they ask me if I want to go night clubs with them but I say I'm not allowed to go because its against my religion and they understand and accept it. If we ever do argue it never is over religion.

My friends' religion doesn't keep us apart. We have known each other to long. We still talk about spiritual stuff in general that is agreeable and relevant. We just avoid certain things or opinions out of respect.

It never has Yet. One of my "best" friends' Husband was J.W. and occasionaly would ask me Questions. (His wife and I went to same church) I always showed Him The answer With Scripture, and showed Him Jesus' Love doing it. After about a Year, I Led Him to Jesus through THE Roman's Road,, By Request!! He then Joined His Wife In Our Church, and Made It Public. I am still Praising God For Him!! Thank you, Jesus. He Rejoiced In His Salvation Too! + + + (smile)

i am a muslim and i have friends of different religions, it can be a problem which keep thems away from me but sometimes you just have to look beyond religion to keep problems away, having a different religion than your friend can be a problem only if you make it one

Usually those who want to remain friendly don't bring up religion or politics because they are very inflammatory topics. I have found that not bringing those topics up tends to make interactions easier in cases where is isn't vital to discuss them. This being the case, I seldom have problems with my friends of any background and I do have friends of all the religions you named.

I have a group of friends that covers a wide spectrum of beliefs (JW, Jewish, Christian, Pagan, Atheist). Religion is far down the list when it comes to our friendship. It's about having mutual respect and realizing that everyone has their own path to follow.

Not at all. I'm christian and have many atheists friends, we don't have any problems with it. The people who have problems with those of different beliefs are basically just intolerant people, so wouldn't feel any need to be friendly with them anyway. I don't have the time or desire to have to deal with prejudism or intolerance from others.
