I'm 30 years old, and a mother of 1. I have no college credit, just an extreme desire to practice medicine. I was thinking about becoming a nurse but I reaaaally want to be a doctor.
BTW I have no college credit, so I would be starting from ground zero.

Write to the deans of admission at several medical schools and ask them what your chances are.

Dr. W. Larimer Mellon was in his thirties when he entered med school. He invested his inheritance (Mellon Bank) towards a hospital in rural Haiti.

A Dr. Rau from Stuttgart Germany sold his family's auto parts business, went to medical school and practiced in Africa. Along the way he invested in art works that will be shown all over the world, then sold off, the profits going to UNICEF.

These were people of wealth. Money might make a difference. I know a person who went into medicine after 30, but he had a college degree.

Go for it, since you have such a strong desire to become a doctor. Nothing ventured...nothing gained. Talk to some doctors & see what advice they give you, then go from there. I wish you the best of luck. With such a strong desire, you're going to make it.
